One believer said,'I like to keep topped up because I leak!'
I love this...

Galations 2
4 And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever he chose.

'So what shall I do?
I will pray with my spirit,
but I will also pray with my understanding;
I will sing with my spirit,
but I will also sing with my understanding.'

(1 Corinthians 14:15)

Thanking a family who rekindled this to my memory, ,

“It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.”
(Psalm 119:71)

"Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God."
(Acts 14:22)

“For the kingdom of God is, , righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
(Romans 14:7)

It's a marvel to me how many commentators feel it is adequate to be sustained by endurance alone for those times of hardship, tells me they don’t have confidence in the ability of the Spirit to strengthen us. Thank God, some do!

“God, who has appointed afflictions for his people, and them to afflictions; and partly on account of the predictions of Christ, who foretold his disciples, that in the world they should have tribulation; as also, that there might be a conformity to him, that as he the head must, and did suffer many things, and enter into his glory, so must they his members: as well as likewise for the trial and exercise of the several graces of the Spirit, and to make the saints meet for heaven, and to make that the sweeter to them.” – J. Gill

Our God is so great and filled with wondrous grace! Amen
Thank God Miss Rowy! Amen. After the outpouring upon the Church, man's efforts to quench found conviction and the Church grew. Oh, wondrous when His Spirit reveals the true fruit that changes people.

"Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard."
(Isaiah 58:8) NASB

'This is to be understood best of temporal and spiritual prosperity, especially the latter, which will attend the churches of the Reformation, when a spirit of persecution is laid aside, and a spirit of love commences' - J Gill

But.....I still find it hard to determine when we are filled. Some have amazing experiences others more modest. When do you know for sure?
I happen to like one of the ways Dr. Billy Graham explained,

"He was sent to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, He shall not speak of himself. When you hear someone speak of the Holy Spirit saying 'the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit', never talking about Jesus Christ you can know that man is not speaking from the Holy Spirit."

At about the 20-min mark.

As the Orthodox Priest said just the other day, that my teachings are coming “out of obscurity”; Ha!

Is it possible that formality would rise up to contend with that “gift” of the Spirit which we receive by faith?

Formality? No problem.
Ritual? No problem.
Tradition? No problem.

But the hour any of these are used to resist sensitivity of His presence, how can any of these help correct such wrong?

IMO, this is spiritual indecency.

Thank you for the link, rock! Billy Graham is amazing to listen to...

'Where the Spirit of the LORD is there is liberty'. Thank God
Thank you Lord

God's Holy Spirit is precious. With Him comes peace and joy and rest, and the sure "knowing" that we are a child of the Most High, forever n' ever.
I thank God for that sure "knowing" that we are a child of the Most High...

Should the Holy Spirit really be something to be focused on? Does God’s word place particular importance upon Him, the Holy Spirit?

Altogether, there are one-hundred thirty-two references in every NT book except Philemon and 2&3 John. There is more importance on the Spirit of God in relation to man than first meets the eye.

Some probably think I do not approach the subject properly by spending so much time on some Christians who would have you believe that signs and wonders are no longer a part of what the Father in heaven and the Son our advocate would ever want us involved with, primarily the gifts, as well as the fruits of the Spirit.

A great harm continues to be perpetrated upon the flock of God by this quenching arm of disbelief. "Evil" is the biblical definition. Two wills then exist for all Christians; One to bless, one to guard against.
