why didn't the disciples know?

19They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, "Surely not I?"
20"It is one of the Twelve," he replied, "one who dips bread into the bowl with me. 21The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."

Did Jesus not bascially give It away? how come they didn't get It?He did all but say the person's name.

Cause people are dumb I would say it could be that God was hidding it from them. I'm really not sure. We just know that they didn't know.

I think Mark tends to exaggerate the disciples "dumbness." I don't think they were as shallow as the Gospel sometimes implies.

The apostles did not understand everything that Jesus told them(except maybe for peter) and they only understood these things when Jesus died and rose again

Thats why Jesus was very frustrated always.

I think its the same with Judas

Did not get what?? From Mark it was written that before the supper Judas had already sought to betray his master. When the disciples asked one by one if he was the one, I believe that they were too saddened to shink about one of them would do it, and very unlikely Judas would own up.

there is a possibility that they knew, but never wanted to admit it. or they may have all commited minor sins, and felt bad about it. Then Jesus brings it up at supper, and they are all very upset about it.
