Has any US president ever "held firm" when it comes to things pertaining to giving Israel (or any other allied country for that matter) "tough love" in the "no, you're on your own, our military is staying out of it" department?

Has the US assisted Israel in the past in launching offesive operations against another country?

Sure, but OP is talking about gods and prophecies. Not just "experiences on paper." If you want to use the Bible as insight into the ideology and thinking of bronze-age, Semitic people that's fine, but OP is giving these writings authority and "truth" they simply don't have in the current timeframe.

Oh they most assuredly have authority and truth in the current timeframe. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. The LORD God Yahweh Elohim doth not change. Man changes.
The living Word of God is still as active and living today as it was in the beginning when God breathed out the stars and created the worlds.

Jesus Christ will come again just as the prophecies proclaim He will. All who believe shall be saved, all who do not believe shall be condemned. The world is about to enter a very trying time, and we can see all this ramping up in the past few decades and even more so the past 4 or 5 years.
Call upon the LORD while He may be found, lest it becomes late and the door is shut. It is not that He is not - but that a time will come the door is shut, just as the door was shut on the ark, and people drowned, or the door to the wedding is shut in Matthew 25.

U.S. military help to Israel will be defensive only, officials say.

As Israel on Monday weighed its response to Iran's stunning attacks this weekend, the U.S. is privately telling officials there: If Israel strikes back militarily, it will do so alone.

It's an unusual message for a close ally that's spent decades receiving more US military aid than any other country in the world and whose relationship with America is often described as "ironclad."

But after months of Israel acting on its own in Gaza -- and facing tough criticism from the U.S. and other allies that its military operations have gone too far – the Biden administration made clear the U.S. wouldn't participate in offensive military operations against Iran, fearing a broader war in the Middle East.

"We believe Israel has freedom of action to protect itself and defend itself," a senior administration official told reporters shortly after Iran's attack ended. "That's a long-standing policy, and that remains."

When asked by a reporter if the U.S. would help Israel counter with offensive military operations, the official said no.

If it happened to the US then Iran would have been bombed, their military bases wiped off the face of the earth. Biden is playing both sides and creating an even worse situation. He is too weak to be a leader and bows to Leftist radical ideology. We have seen this in how they re=established aid money to Iran and how many on the Left are reluctant to condemn terrorism in teh name of Woke ideology.

With direct boots on the ground?

Or by proxy by sending them a bunch of weapons to use for operations against other countries?

The latter yes...

In the 2006 Lebanon War the US sent them armaments, which they then used to target Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

I was referring to active US military support, excluding actual boots on the ground. During the Iranian attack, US air defense assets, along with other countries including Jordan, actively engaged Iranian missles and drones. However, that was in defense of Israel. If Israel choses to respond offensively, the US is stating they will not provide US military support.

Disagree.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.
This is true. i.e. Dead.
The LORD God Yahweh Elohim doth not change. Man changes.
Well except between the old and new testaments. God is decidedly comparatively different between the two. Man seems not to be all that different, however.

So, you seem to have reduced and resolved to just preach at me now. I don't really care what you choose to believe, but this is not productive in the least. Just looks a little silly.

Here the Iranians are going crazy and full of lies strait from hell!

'NOTHING WOULD REMAIN': IRAN'S PRESIDENT VOWS TO COMPLETELY DESTROY ISRAEL IF IT LAUNCHES ‘TINIEST INVASION’

He apparently does not believe the scriptures. His regime will be destroyed. Israel will always remain. Yahweh fights for Israel and will not permit such ridiculous foolishness.

"Raisi said Saturday’s attack was a limited one but that "nothing would remain from the Zionist regime," should it escalate the current situation, the official IRNA news agency reported."

No! You mean the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran doesn't believe in a Zionist Evangelical reading of the Old Testament?! Well now I've heard everything.

"Yahweh" is a funny way to spell AIPAC and the U.S. congress.

"Raisi said Saturday’s attack was a limited one but that "nothing would remain from the Zionist regime," should it escalate the current situation, the official IRNA news agency reported."

Yeah. Just like they destroyed "the great Satan" America by saying similar things over and over since 1979.

The way President Biden has thrown Israel under the bus has been pretty incredible to see. I remember when he got elected and did his trip to Israel a few years ago they rolled out the red carpet for him. Treated him like General Douglas Macarthur. His schizophrenic behavior on Middle East policy in the last six months has been mind-blowing. Ultimately he is trying to avoid a major war and gain re-election but the way you treat people on the way to where you are going says a lot and it leaves a lasting impression. Jews, Arabs, Persians, Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, really the whole world, understand Joe Biden very well. He is a pragmatist and is not acting as a leader but as a manager, and it's behavior that won't be respected globally. I believe that this wobbly behavior will encourage terror activity in the United States in the near future.

Regarding Israel, I have seen this kind of behavior on the part of a country that claims to be the eternal friend of another country. Biden administration goes from proclaiming eternal friendship and support to Israel to then lecturing, throwing Israel under the bus internationally, supporting protest movements in Israel against the elected government, then funding more Israeli military activity and shooting down rockets from Iran, to now saying, if you attack, we won't help. There's no way I could accurately cover it in language, but this is the most two-faced, fake friend behavior I have ever seen from a country. Not only has the U.S. been hostile to Israel's government at points after proclaiming eternal friendship, but they've actually coordinated with Iran recently to a very disturbing degree. Imagine if your best friend promised to be your ally forever after you got punched in the face, but then went around saying bad things about you to everyone and even coordinating with the person who punched you. And then, this fake friend tells you that if you stand up for yourself against that same bully, they won't support you! [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]

Wow, that's genocide in writing. Where is the U.N.?

Russia, (Iran’s backer in the region) is currently busy bringing Truth & Justice to Ukariane, so won’t be able to help much, right now, which is why the Iranian President (the office is basically a public-relations gig), has to resort to wild proclamations of utter destruction of Israel.

Yeah, I get that point of view. But it could also be that Iran is so drunk with its feeling of power after shooting at Israel that its long-held genocidal ambitions towards Israel are becoming more real to them, thus putting them in some kind of psychological pitch where their fantasies actually feel like they are coming true. It's like they are having an orgy in their minds where their apocalyptic worldview can actually happen so they are talking like it will happen, hoping it WILL happen.

I think it's that in combination with the overcompensating brinkmanship Raisi is saying. I just can't believe you can actually openly declare that there will be nothing left of another country and not immediately have the U.N. brought together to condemn you and shun you forever. Incredible hypocrisy and Iran has always gotten away with this kind of behavior which is why they keep doing it with more and more intensity.

Iran's government is so crazy and no one wants to deal with them. Unfortunately every day they are not dealt with, they become worse. Eventually someone will have to risk annihilation by confronting them. They are a spoiled child that has never once been disciplined and think they can get away with murder, and they have to this point because no one has ever done anything.

Maybe this will trigger the Israelis to hit the weapons plant that makes the weapons used nightly by Russia in Ukraine and that one attack on Israel.

If Israel does not attack Iran, I believe Iran will goad Israel in that direction. Iran ultimately wants the destruction of Israel and if possible, they want to be the ones to make it happen. They are actually spoiling for this fight I believe, but only if they can be around to see the end of it as the winners.

Yes, doing anything other than agreeing with Israel’s actions without question is throwing them under the bus.
