Auditor BF Borgers and its owner Benjamin Borgers, whose clients include Trump Media , were charged by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission with “massive fraud” that affected more than 1,500 SEC filings, the agency said on Friday.
And for those interested, the SEC order is located here (open access, as SEC orders are free to read). Man, Trump is a bad apple: https://www.sec.gov/files/litigation/admin/2024/33-11283.pdf

Trump Media said in an SEC filing last month that Borgers had served as its accounting firm before the company went public in March, auditing Trump Media’s financial statements for 2022 and 2023. In March, the Trump Media board also approved Borgers as its auditor for its upcoming 2024 report.

Notably, it appears Trump Media's filing was not one of the filings reviewed by the SEC:
The SEC said its review of the firm’s audits found “deliberate and systemic failures” in more than 1,500 filings from January 2021 through June 2023. That period was before Trump Media & Technology Group went public, suggesting that its filings were not among those investigated as part of the review.

Wow, from what I get, it seems like Trump lied to the SEC. If this isn't enough to throw this man in jail (along with the 91 crimes), who knows what is.

Trump can point the finger at the auditing company....unless of course, it can be proven that Trump Media knew the company was producing false filings.

Who knows what will happen. Trump should have gone with a trustworthy company to file his reports. But, I think deep down, Trump wanted a company to falsify his records.
