A friend of mine (autodidactic on LiveJournal) has contributed an interesting observation:

Justice is when you get what you deserve.
Mercy is when you don't get what you deserve.
Grace is when you get what you don't deserve.

All three, it seems, are inextricable parts of God. One could, I suppose, make these into sort of an analogy of the Trinity. The Father provides justice, the Son provides mercy, and the Spirit provides grace.

Thoughts?

That explains it all well.

For me this makes God too separate. What about the father of the prodigal son, he shows plenty of mercy and grace. Doesn't he represent God? Have you read Henri Nouwen on that, btw? Very good.

I don't see God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit having character differences.
