The development of lactose tolerance in humans is primarily due to a genetic mutation known as lactase persistence.

And here's where ChatGPT and I disagree.

Big time.

(Thanks for answering the question.)

“The sequences were already in order from the parents' DNA”
Really now, tell me something else that not everyone in the world already knows.
So the sequence just appeared one day out of thin air? How did the nucleotides get arranged to begin with?
We seem to be going back and forth on this. Like I said before, biologic evolution is defined as a change in the frequency of alleles in a population of organisms over time/generations. You have to have a population of living organisms. The population has DNA. There's your sequence.

If you're talking about the formation of life in the first place, that's abiogenesis, not biologic evolution. There is no scientific theory of abiogenesis at this time. If you're arguing about how the sequences got arranged to begin with, you're not arguing against any current scientific theory. Give it more time, who knows, scientists might come up with one.

How that first sequence got formed doesn't matter to biologic evolution. God, nature, aliens, whatever. However you get that first population, evolution takes off from there.

Doesn't matter. His rhetorical questions have descended into just improvisation.. Our esteemed colleague Thurston came in here with what he thought was a "gotcha" which would instantly demolish the theory of evolution. Now that he is getting the idea that it won't work he's afraid to pull the trigger.

How do you know that?

Because they were created perfect.

And don't forget:

Much later on, God calls the Promised Land, "the land of milk and honey."

So you don't know, you just have the audacity to define "perfection" for God.

If you read the content of the OP it is styled with genuine curiosity and the implication of an open mind. Most subsequent posts by the author lack any of those positive characteristics. Occam's razor would suggest the OP was insincere.

So you can’t tell me about the fact that just the correct mutations had to occur in just the right order? It was just bound to happen? Only an atheist would believe such nonsense as perfect chance
There are many different types of eyes, produced by different sequences of mutations. Moths, flies, squid, mammals and jellyfish have different types of eyes, which evolved independently.

Their arguments rarely change with time.

As they say, "You can't change perfection."

Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The only way it changes is downward.

And that's what the fact of evolution should be:

Explaining how the universe in 4004 BC got to how it is today in AD 2024 because of the Fall.

But since it doesn't, it's only a theory.

And a bad one at that.

In short, evolution should be explaining the results of the Fall, not the Creation.

It should explain where we're going, not where we came from.

When a child is nursing, it's system produces an enzyme which aids in the digestion of milk. In some cases this enzyme secretion automatically shuts down when the child is weaned. They are said to be "lactose intolerant." In others it does not (because of a mutation) which allows them to digest milk as adults. They are said to be "lactose tolerant."
In the case of Adam and Eve, lactose intolerance would be the default condition, as it is in most mammals I believe, because God anticipated them having only plants to eat as adults. Lactose intolerance is the perfection. Lactose tolerance is a mutation.

I totally disagree.

In the case of theistic evolution and/or natural evolution, Earth came into existence extremely hostile to life.

Then, billions of years later, Earth settled down to where it can tolerate life for just so long before its elements kill its hosts.

Oxygen, for example, is extremely corrosive, but allows for life to exist for a time.

In a literal six-day creation, everything was perfect, non-toxic, and friendly to all life on it.

Then the Fall came about, and the gene pool was infested with "floaties."

One of the results of which is lactose intolerance.
