We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Islam messages.
We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Judaism messages.
We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Buddhism messages.
We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Shintoism messages.
We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Free Mason messages.
We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Satanism messages.
We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Zoroastrian messages.
We need vouchers for children so that they are not forced to attend classes with anti-Hinduism messages.

Equal rights. It's a hard thing.

Maybe it is just me but it seems like being able to do these things (send kids to schools that have classes with "anti-" messages) is why vouchers are so popular among many on the right (particularly the religious right).

Being for vouchers for schooling children, sounds much better than “defund the schools”?

It's not hard to avoid such messages in elementary schools. I have said before that the schools (not just in Maryland) need to concentrate on English and math. Schools in Maryland, as you can see in the article below, are doing poorly in these basic subjects:
Pushing an LGBTQ curriculum and DEI, separating the kids by race, is harming the children. I strongly disagree with Joe Biden's policies, Joe stood with a (added clarification, "former KKK") KKK leader, Robert Byrd, to stop black children from being sent to white schools. Joe said he did not want his children raised in a "racial jungle." The parents should have the choice to send their kids to a good school, a school that doesn't teach DEI or ANY form of racism.

Do you have any idea how much classroom time is devoted to "woke" stuff in elementary schools?

While there is some truth to this (the "racial jungle" quote is legitimate), there's considerable exaggerations.

Robert Byrd was a leader in his local chapter of the KKK, but quit the organization around 1950. The events you allude to are in the 1970's, namely long after Robert Byrd wasn't a member. He was an "ex-KKK leader" at that point, and had been an ex-KKK leader for quite some time.

The claim "to stop black children from being sent to white schools" is misleading also, as it sounds like he was in favor of segregation, but his opposition seems to have actually been to the more specific issue of school busing, and opposition to that isn't even out of step with the country today (a Gallup poll from a few years ago had only 43% of people say they favored it, while 55% were opposed).

Byrd was a former member of the KKK when Byrd and Biden stood together at a later date. Joe has not been truthful about his role in the civil rights movement. Kamala was careful not to characterize Joe as a racist, but Joe has been deceitful about his role in the civil rights movement. To be fair here is their discussion about his busing stance, and Kamala mentioned Joe's characterization of the guy as well:

Finally, back when Joe made the comment about a "racial jungle," what do you think he meant?

It is not the job of the school to push transgenderism on kids or change the English language to suit their political beliefs:

I saw a really fascinating article yesterday about a MAGA supporter who was one of those all up in arms, much as you are, about "wokeism" in the schools and got voted in as a member of the Board of Education. Once elected, she immediately started looking through the curriculum for all the grades in the district, specifically looking for the types of things you are talking about -- sexualizing children, critical race theory, tearing down gender roles, etc. Can you guess what she found? If you guessed nothing, that there was no sexualizing of children, no critical race theory, etc., then you would be correct.

So, she tried to let all her friends, particularly her political allies what she found. Can you guess what happened? They got upset, because they need to push those issues to kill trust in public education. Instead, what she found out is that narrative is being pushed in Texas, and across the nation, because they want to kill public schools with vouchers programs.

Wow, ancient history, let’s not forget that the Confederacy were mostly DEMOCRATS too, while we’re at it!

Joe is old, but not quite that old. Joe keeps making false claims about his background in the civil rights movements, and he's going to keep conning at least some of the younger people unless someone else speaks up and tells the truth. Notice too how differently he speaks to a white audience and black audience.
