I never thought I would see the day when antisemitism reared its ugly head in the USA. It’s shameful. There have always been rare isolated incidents but now it’s arrived.

It has always been there. Remember Charlottesville? "JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US!" - that was the cry:

Jews will not replace us.jpg

There have been attacks on synagogues, on individuals, harassment, and vandalism. The more visibly Jewish as in Orthodox Jews, the more likely the attacks. It has been increasing badly since 2017 per the ADL.

Humanity is gullible to hate. Besides antisemitism, there is anti-Muslim hate, anti-Asian hate, anti-black hate and there has always been anti-Native American bias in the USA. And there is more.

Christians are suppose to be a light to the world. Matt. 5:14 - 16 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a [fn]hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a [fn]basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." (NASB95)

It has always been there in dribs and drabs. It's there in a big way now. Not the same magnitude AT ALL.
Have you forgotten the KKK, Sam Cayhill, Sam Bowers, and others?

I think there is more to it. This reminds me of when I was in college and the anti-Vietnam War protests on campus. Except then it was move about civil rights and ending the war.
Now it seems the protesters have to hate Jews as part of the protest. Columbia was right to ban a student leader who advocated killing Jews. He has since apologized but actions have consequences.

I'm in the 70s now and I have seen the hatred ease in this country then really start growing in response to the election of Obama. It was not Obama who caused it but the bad reaction of the opposition to him. Remember these racist images from the Tea Party days?

It has all gotten worse.

Fact is that Hamas was the attacker in this latest war. The Israeli government under Bibi has made it intolerable to the Palestinians not to fight, but then the Palestinians never did compromise at all since Israel was made a country. There is guilt all around.

I disagree.

Now it's people saying it in support of Arab people.

Before it was white people saying it.

Also, I'd wager there's a conflation with antisemitism and antizionism....yet again.

No. Prior to WWII there was a huge amount of antisemitism in the country. To the point where Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh, considered national heroes, were openly antisemitic.

Why does this thread exist?
If I had to wager a guess, too many facts were posted in response to the first one for the GOP talking points to be viable there. Best to repost them here without that information lest the marks start thinking too hard about the con.
