A Prayer for Peace among the Russian and Ukrainian Orthodox

Dear Lord, have mercy on us and hear our petitions. For we beg thee in all solemnity that there may be peace, deliverance, forgiveness and love among Thy servants in Russia and the Ukraine, so that there may be unity in the Orthodox Church and that Orthodox Christians may live together in tranquility and mutual friendship undivided by secular conflicts. Grant, we beseech Thee, an end to all schisms and a restoration of canonical order in Thy church. Vouchsafe, O Lord, to frustrate the ambitions of those seeking to exploit this tragedy to harm the Holy Orthodox Faith. Restore union, so that in the strength of unity the Church may defend against future persecutions by atheist and Islamist tyrants.

Arise, O God, and let Thy enemies be scattered, for Thou art a good God who lovest mankind, who hath grafted us on to the Body of Christ for our salvation.

This we ask seeking the intercession of the Theotokos, St. Andrew the First Called, St. Vladimir of Kiev, St. Tikhon of Moscow, St. Nikitas of the Kiev Caves, St. Ignatius Brianchaninov, St. John of Kronstadt, St. Seraphim of Sarov, St. Alexei the child-martyr, and all the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, the Ukraine and all places where Thy saints were persecuted by the Atheist Communists. This we ask in the Name of our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who livest and reignest with Thee our Heavenly Father, together with Thy Holy Spirit our Comforter and Paraclete, Now and Ever and unto the Ages of all Ages, Amen.
