Luke 11:46. And He said, Woe to you also, lawyers! For you load men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.

1 Timothy 1:
5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith,
6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,
7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say
nor the things which they affirm.
8 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully,
9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,
11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

Luke 11:52. Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.

Sadly, it's the same thing today.

Judicial system makes the law so diabolically complicated that it takes someone charging for exorbitant fees to make sure your innocent skin isn't punished unjustly.

Its evil. It would have been OKAY if it's FREE. But NO. Lawyers, doctors, politicians, money, they're all in it! Money is indeed the root of all evil!

I guess the same thing CAN happen in religion too... Jesus said we all have access to the Truth and we DON'T need another man to teach us... And yet, so many false teachers out there behave themselves like they're the only ones with answers and we are too stupid to figure it out on our own!

Do you think that Jesus was criticizing the lawyers for teaching what God had commanded them to do? Was his purpose in criticizing them the lawyers to get them to turn away from doing what God had commanded them or to draw them to a fuller obedience to what God has commanded?

What I see is a concern for how their behavior affected others.

Matthew 23:15. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

Matthew 18:6. But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

It will be a sad, if not comical testimony if there are saved souls walking around with millstones on their neck because they thought that their witness didn't matter. Just trust Jesus to take you to heaven when you die. But what about how your life affected others? Will there be an accountability? I think so.

You avoided answering my questions.

Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.

He said that tithing was something that they ought to be doing, while not neglecting weightier matters of the law, so he was not coming against the law, but rather he was calling them to a fuller obedience to it. Furthermore, he said that faithfulness is one of the weightier matters of the law, so obedience to it is what trusting him looks like.

Nah, I didn't avoid answering, I just gave an answer that wasn't one of the ones that you were leading me to give. Okay, I would say that I agree with the idea that He wanted them to have a fuller obedience.
What your questions did not address is that both verses that I quoted Luke 11:46 and 52 speak to how their behavior affected others. Is that somehow less important? Do you hear the echo of the OT prophets when they proclaimed "Woe to the shepherds who neglect the sheep?"
Now you are bringing in a new verse which involves "the weightier matters of the Law". Absolutely, that fits the direction you are taking the conversation, and I agree with your assessment.

Luke 7:
29 And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God,
having been baptized with the baptism of John.
30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves,
not having been baptized by him.
