Blessings to everyone in this glorious Paschaltide.

I wanted to start a thread wherein we could share what, if any, new Catholic books we would like to see written or published in the coming decade. I am a huge bibliophile (if that wasn't obvious already), and there are a number of new books on various topics that I'd like to see Catholic writers, apologists, and clergy take up as the decade unfolds. So here's an initial list that's just off the top of my head:
  • A new book on Sola Scriptura from a Catholic apologetics perspective.
  • A new book on Purgatory, especially from an apologetics perspective.
  • The Ignatius Study Bible: Old Testament (1 volume) OR 1 volume, complete ICSB. **
  • Hardcover (esp. cloth over board) or leather edition of the Augustine Bible (ESV-CE).
  • Hardcover (again, cloth over board) of the CCC with any additions by Pope Francis.
  • New publications of the Nova Vulgata: Bibliorum Sacrorum Editio.
  • Collection of Pope Francis' encyclicals and writings.
  • New ceremonial for the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite (old one is still good tho).
  • A new book on the importance of Latin in the Catholic Church (VS is still useful).
  • A nice leather edition of the 2025 NABRE (the NT is going to be revised).
  • A new book on the history and viability of "deaconesses" (update to the old one).
** The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible has been completed, but not published as a single or two-volume edition(s). Rumor is that we will be getting a three-volume set for the whole Bible.

These are just the ones that come to mind. Are there any books or topics for books that y'all would like to see published in the coming years?

I suppose I'd like to see a novel, or a fiction series (parables if you like), which presented Christian apologetics with Catholic overtones.

It would be an arduous undertaking, but given a choice, which book or books do you think Joe and Sally Blog would prefer to read - a long onerous university level textbook or a ripping yarn?

Come to think of it Christ seemed to teach that way - by telling stories. I can't remember Him using too many terms like sacramental theology, hermeneutics, eschatology, Millenarianism, justification or governmental theory of the atonement. I must have missed them somehow.

Actually, I plan to buy a catechism or two before the changes. The second edition hits a good note for me. Otherwise I like your list, especially the first and second item. And third and fourth. I want the whole Ignatius study Bible rather than the little paperback partial volumes up to now.

That would be really cool! I'd pick that up in a heartbeat.
