Where does it say that? And how is that decided?-
Not everyone will live in the new Jerusalem.
Below is a link to quite a few articles on the topic, if you want you can read a free grace perspective.om the subjectWhere does it say that? And how is that decided?
I agree that Revelation is symbolic, (as such I tend to not take much of my theology from it) but the new earth is mentioned in multiple books of the bible so I would say, that if anything is literal, its the new earth. It's highly symbolic language. I know, at the end of time, we will be given new glorified bodies so I assume we will be able to explore the new "earth" so to speak.
I really like your question. Personally, I believe in the book revelations. yes there are a lot of symbols but they are the same as found in other texts of the bible sometimes the meaning was explained in other books, do search fross references in revelations amazing. I firmly believe there will be a new earth and a new Jerusalem, I calculated the size of the city and it will be absolutely HUGE! will not fit on the current earth!
Someone put it this way --
When we see Him we will be like He is. Now how did Christ show up to the 12 after He rose? From what I gather we can walk run or just think were we want to be or get this even fly.
It is possible that the city is synonymous with the kingdom on the new earth, but I could be wrong.
That isn't meant to be taken literally. We will inherit the entire new earth, not just part of it. The holy city, new Jerusalem, is said to be "the bride, the wife of the Lamb" (Revelation 21:9). How could a literal, physical city be the bride of Christ? It couldn't be. No, it's a figurative representation of Christ's church.
I dont want to sound argumentative, but I dont think that this was a legitimate vision, as it doesnt line up with the bible. Heaven is always shown in descriptions of fellowship and joy, not exile. Exile sounds more in accordance with hell.I recently had something of a vision where I was in the NHNE and in a pasture by myself. There was one animal with me, but besides that, I felt at peace being alone there in that serene place.
In heaven, there is only peace and well-being. There is nothing you can consider to be suffering there. It is not necessarily glee but peace knowing all things are well.
