Why was Satan allowed to DESTROY the family that God intended as good?

Seriously, it is heartbreaking that Satan succeeded in destroying the family and the bond of sexual love between man and woman for everyone else, and God likely may not restore that for eternity again. There is very high rates of divorce nearly everywhere and there is seemingly no haven or escape from this perversion. As well as other things, like the possibility that God will allow them to destroy the whole earth and everybody living on it. Very insane times.

It is really making me lose my already mustard-seed faith.

Why would that make you lose faith? This life is not for this life.

God causes all things, each in its own time, for his purposes. "Even the wicked for the day of evil."

I really long to have the kind of couple relationship that Adam and Eve had.

Also, I wouldn’t blame Satan. Satan answers to God. Humans answer to God. The question is why do humans keep going against what God wants? We are selfish & don’t seek him. It' that simple.
I really long to have the kind of couple relationship that Adam and Eve had.
That makes me wonder how much they argued about the Fruit incident, & if they blamed each other after Cain killed Abel.
We know they fought over who was at fault for taking the Fruit for sure.

Haha! You've got a point there! I never really considered their relationship after that first blaming incident, though I can imagine, the one son killing another had to have been heartbreaking.

You got THAT right, for sure!

God built that longing into us, I think, because that is a small picture of the 'real deal' in Heaven. To know someone as I know myself, yet be ever discovering, and they knowing me that well. Loving them as I love myself, and them loving me the same. Both innocent yet wise, without sin, without contradiction or selfishness.

What to me is enthralling about it is the perfection of other relationships and of purity. Innocence and purity make for the best personality. No manipulating each other, no pretense, no imposition, no self-exaltation, no self-importance. I can't imagine Adam or Eve thinking the world revolves around them. And in that kind of mindset, not just to each other, but to everything around them, each personality fully pure, that their relationship to each other is pure.

For example, as CS Lewis says, it is in taking each other seriously that the best humor comes.

He did warn us that things would escalate as time moves on .... however .... He also said He would go through all these things with us.

We are to watch and can have an idea where we are at in the stream of time ..... we don't know exactly when He will return .... but we can certainly see that evil in the world is escalating in many ways .... nearing HIs return.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
New International Version

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (amen)

It think it's our own faults. Even Christian hypocrisy.

Because here's what I observe among Christian families. They love their kids, their families more than God. It has become their idol, their false God.

They're completely unwilling to do anything for the Lord if it means sacrificing time and resources meant for their families.

This is why Jesus said, "unless you hate your wife and kids....etc..., .....you cannot be my disciple". Even if Jesus is being figurate here, "hate" remains a very strong word to use.

Why Jesus is saying that because it's true, if you love your family too much, if you idolize your family, you won't be able to do anything useful / meaningful / valuable to our Lord. Going to church to Sundays isn't enough. Giving 10% of you tithes isn't enough.

I think you're giving our First Parents too much credit. As has been stated, we do not know the sort of relationship they had. Sure, Adam's first recorded words are a song extolling the newly-created Woman; but in Genesis 3, he stood by silently while the Serpent beguiled his wife, and when confronted by God, blamed Him for giving him the woman. In the very next chapter, we read of Cain killing his brother. What sort of family dynamics were present where one grew to commit fratricide and whose offspring were decidedly unrighteous? What repercussions did Adam and Eve experience? Add to this the trend in Genesis of passive men and scheming women.

And I think you're giving Satan too much credit also. Obviously he may have succeeded in disrupting type, but he was not successful in the antitype where the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph were the indefatigable righteous and perfect Mother and step-father of the Lord Jesus Christ, who Himself is the New Adam.

I don’t think it’s fair or appropriate to associate Satan with everything that goes wrong, because that diminishes the lack of foresight and a host of other things by those involved.

A lot of people rush into marriage, particularly when younger. Personally I don’t think people should even start thinking about marriage until at least 25 because they are still developing as individuals and need to work out who they are for themselves before they try and be something to someone else and maybe end up resenting choices they can no longer make as an individual.

It doesn’t surprise me that divorce rates are high. There are a lot of lazy people out there that are more than happy doing the bare minimum and entrapping their spouse.

Human beings are given free will. They can choose to do good or evil.
Not only are we allowed to do good or evil, for some reason we are saddled in a society where the latter is far more influential.

If people want to get anywhere then they really need to stop leaning on that "cop out" every time they want to avoid any sort of accountability.

And it's not about placing blame or lacerating yourself for making a mistake, you actually NEED the lesson within to actually extract value from this thing we call, "life". If you keep hiding behind Satan then expect zero growth.

It is entirely our fault.

What God originally meant families for good we turned into an idol. A false god. Something we hold with far greater importance than God. Although many Christians would say otherwise, "I love God more than anything", "I make God #1 in my life". But their actions prove otherwise. Unfortunately, these are not isolated incidents but the majority thinking.

This gotten so bad to the point Jesus had to ask anyone to leave their families to follow Him to prove their love for the Lord is real, genuine, and not fake.

Being single means you are probably in a better position to love the God and seek the Truth UNLESS you obsess with the idea of getting married you feel so miserable being single.

It's only one of the few thing that is part of a much large problem that has plagued Christianity since the beginning. We have always wanted the same out of religion that the Pharisees did. Jesus warned the early Christians "beware of the yeast of the Pharisees" and that evil people will infiltrate and corrupt this religion. These warnings came to pass. But Christians don't really want to hear this, and they will try to silence anyone who preaches this message.
