some questions I will have for when I get to Heaven one day...if any have thougths on this, please feel free to add them. I realize none of us can truly say for sure why, but these are valid questions I have had for quite a while....

**why do the good seem to die young, whereas usually the meanest person you can think of it pushing 80 or 90. In all due respect, as an example, my paternal grandma was one of the ugliest, rudest, and lacking in basic grace and kindness type of person. She lived to be mid 90's, we frankly started to wonder if she would EVER die. Otoh, growing up I knew 2 kids who were so loving, kind, so much to give and died young. Recently someone told me they had taken their young toddler to a big warehouse store in the middle of the day, and a mean nasty old man made a rude comment to her about her child. I mean, I guess I dont get after a certain point why God allows a person with such an ugly mean spirit to hang around til people begin to wonder if they will ever get around to dying!! I know he wants them to have a chance to repent, but 96 yrs old my greandma was probably the furthest she ever was towards having a soft heart and as far as I know, never did repent..(i know some nice older poeple too, so i'm not saying all old poeople are rude and mean,..just want to clarify that..)

My friends dad was such a nice daddy , very kind, loving, the kind of dad you could sit and talk to, he would give her hugs and play and just an exccellent dad. Yet he died at 37, what was the point of that? I am just trying to be honest here, I dont think faith means we have to swallow our questions.

** Why do some poeople have all the breaks, while others lives look like an episode of Days of our lives or somethign?

** when you die, do you get wings? Do you get to pick out your own mansion in heaven or is it assigned?
can you eat if you want to in Heaven?

If I think of more I will ask them maybe, thanks!!

God's perfect mercy. He gives the ones who are not walking in His ways all the time they need to repent.

In 1977 my 18 month old niece drowned. I wondered why, but she was in a coma for 8 weeks before she died, and it's incredible how many people turned to God in that time. What was the purpose of her short life....perhaps so that her existance would help others turn to God in prayer. Why does God allow somethings to happen to some people and not to others .... I have no real idea. My father is 96.....I hated him most of my life, and just about begged God to take the horrible man from our lives....but he's still with us and quite well for his age. I now THANK GOD for his long life, because I have learned to forgive and love my father....I never thought that would be possible. God works in mysterious ways. And who cares what sort of mansion we get in Heaven.....I'll be happy if I can sit in the back row of Heaven behind a big pole, so long as I'm ...IN....

I can't see us getting wings when we die, as I don't see our souls looking like our bodies...but that is just what I think, Im not dead, have never died so I couldnt tell ya ;)

As for good dying young etc...
My gramps lived to be in his mid 80's and he was awesome...the best...
My grandma lived to be in her early 90's :)
Then there are those that are mean and do die later in life as well...and those that are mean and die in middle age or in their 20's and 30's...
We go when we go...either when our bodies shut down...or just by fluke chance.
I dont believe that God calls us back...however I do believe God is there waiting for us with open arms :) and God is with the family's of those who go both prematuraly and in old age for them (the family) to lean on (for support) as well (comforting them).

All of us are sinners and are subject to death because we live in a world that's tainted by sin and ruled by death. The question shouldn't be "why do good people die young", because we know from Matthew 19:17 that no one is good.

Instead, we should thank God for His patience and longsuffering that He would allow us to live as long as we do.

when you die, do you get wings?

Why would you get wings? Are you a bird?

wareagle,

hello...
I see what your saying, the Bible verse about no one is good..I think that is probably referring to fact that nobody is without sin, we are all born with a sin nature. i wasnt really asking about that, I know we all have a sin nature, i was referring to young, innocents such as my first friend I made in kindergarten, Vicki, who was so sweet, i still remember having lunch at her house and she was such as sweet little girl, we would play at recess, she had just moved to the country from Australia and she was my first friend there. She didnt tease me for my accent, she had one too! Anyways, she died about a month after she turned 6, hit by a car. I was told she had gone to heaven, the next day, and i remember wondernig why God had taken her to Heaven.
I guess I feel like young innocents die, while there are so many older crabby downright mean people. My grandma was one of the meanest things to walk the earth and she lived to almost 100, eegads, I thougth maybe she will never die, someone will have to throw a bucket of water on her like in Wizard of Oz, ok, that was harsh. But it makes me wonder why take a girl that lent so much sweet and kindness to the world , it would be nice if Vicki could have stayed around longer and let dear old granny depart sooner?
anyways, i guess it gives the mean and hard hearted a chance to repent, from the ones I have seen like grandma, though, it seems like it often doesnt end up happening, she only got more mean, and hardened with age, but I guess God in his mercy wanted her to have a shot at it, who knows it's possible she ended up repenting, I jsut never saw any evidence of that..

then when i was in grade school a nice little boy named Peter died of cancer at age almost 12 and a few years later a super nice boy in our neighborhood only 14 yrs old shot himself in the head and died.
But I can see some mean old man spreading uglyness around ,and wonder why not take him instead of someone like Joey, who killed himself at age 14....??

I guess this is pretty blunt, but i dont think its something that peple sometimes wonder about, why did dear old AUnt Cruella live to 98, and that nice man die at 30 ? etec

Well, I think God leaves a lot up to chance and circumstance. I believe the primary reason why some bad people never seem to get their due and some good people seem punished in spite of their righteous ways is that God does not want us to adopt the faith exclusively to avoid punishment. I think He wants something more than a relationship of coercion.

I believe "the good die young", as you say, because of sin in the world. God isn't killing, He wasn't driving the car, He didn't cause the 14-your-old to kill himself, it's all just sin in the world. Sin is also what caused your grandmother to become so bitter. Have you ever thought about what her life was like? I bet it wasn't a picnic. The cycle of sin goes on and on, and only God is able to break it. By cycle I mean how treating someone badly leads to them treating someone else badly and on and on. Your grandmother may very well have been just as cheerful as Vicki was at the age of 6. Only God knows our hearts.

Second, death here on earth isn't the end of things. Vicki may very well be way better off at the moment than we are, or your grandmother ever was. If life here on earth were all that there is to it, then it would indeed be horrible, but that's not what God promised. One day God will clean up all the sin, and then the good won't die young anymore.
