Why do I keep dreaming about the Virgin Mary?

Seriously, this is something which really has stuck in my mind and keeps on coming to mind.

In dreams I seem to nearly always see images or references to the Virgin Mary. Some of these have included:

- statues or representations of the Virgin Mary, which can be anywhere in the dream. I even saw in one dream a concert poster of Mary!
- People in my dreams called Mary, or with some other connection such as the dream where a friend told me she was going to Fatima.
- Roses, and they're nearly always red for some reason.
- One isolated dream where I saw a young girl standing in the street crying. She was wearing a blue robe similar to ones seen in depictions of Mary, and was in a white and gold headscarf.

I really don't know what to make of this given my weak faith. Anyone got any ideas?

Well, Mary, the Mother of God, is a saint and eternally interceding for us at the throne of her Son. Pray to Mary and ask for her prayers and protection. Just my two cents.

I believe the dreams are b/c we pray for Mary's intercession (Catholic) and recognize her as the Mother of Jesus (most faiths). I also believe the dreams are a gift; I have a feeling of happiness upon me when she is in my dreams just as when I dream of Jesus.

I have heard of Mary sprinkling roses, did you smell the roses? I had this happen to me once. I was with a friend, speaking of Mary and the scent of roses was in the room. We both agreed this was a gift of Mary.

Did you recognize the girl in your dream? Or was the little girl's name part of the dream anywhere?

I don't think your faith is weak. I have heard of people of various faiths having experiences like this.

I do think you need to pray for the little girl in your dream. If you don't recognize her or know her name, pray for her anyway, offering up just what you know about her.

Mary is visiting you. You asked her to pray for you or thought about her or someone you know with STRONG faith told her or her Son about you in prayer.

Roses are Our Lady's flower. Whenever she is around there is a scent of roses.

All the Saints and Visionaries from Lourdes, Fatima etc have stated that. Even today when people visit the sites of Visions they smell the scent of roses.

You don't have to have a STRONG faith for Our Lady to be drawn to you. Just as you don't have to have a STRONG faith or ANY faith at all for God to visit you.

St Paul had ZERO faith when he was Saul the persecutor of Christians. His faith was instilled in him and grew after God visited him.

Do you know the Rosary prayer? The name stems from the word 'rose'. Learn it.

Mary, the Theotokos, loves us, and she is the Mother of all Christians. I try and pray to her every night before bed, asking her to keep praying for me to her son and keep me in her care. All Christians can benefit from praying to the saints; it is really just conversation within the Church.

You are thinking about the blessed Virgin, and so you dream about her; that much is easy.

You have clearly looked up some references to her, to find out which images relate to her, and which do not, otherwise you would not have made the connection with the roses, or with Fatima, for example.

That explains why you are seeing these images. Then to the meaning. The most important aspect of any dream is that it is always about ourselves, and that it will relate to either a wish or a fear.

So, are you afraid of being too much like the Virgin Mary, or do you wish to emulate her in some way? If the latter, in what way to you want to emulate her? There are several choices; in having a child or in remaining eternally chaste are the obvious ones. One of these may be calling to you. On the other hand there is the less obvious one of her obedience to God. Mary never hesitated, and never doubted. Maybe you want to emulate her faith, and her courage. We can all benefit from doing that.

So, determining what the question is, and from that what the answer is, will be the reason you dream about her.

In other words, in your dreams Mary represents you. Now you have to work out in what way she represents you, and what it is you want to learn from her.

The Colour red means our lord’s blood; he died on the cross for your sins.
Blue represents heaven
White is the colour of purity, holiness.

A friend told me she was going to Fatima. (Our lady wants you) to start praying the rosary, for sinners and unbeliever’s also to bring other people to know our lord. You are blessed

The dark blue robe the young girl was wearing represents our lady sorrows, light blue represents heaven, you’re blessed.

Gold and white head scarf the young girl is wearing the colour Gold represents God and white represents the Virgin Mary purity.

I do not know why you are dreaming about Mary, but I would not dwell on it, pray and ask God, if you receive no answerer it is just your brain dreaming.

If I receive a dream from God He will give me the meaning as I wake or in time of prayer, other wise I forget about it.

Ok so i will do my best to write you on my past experience of dreams and what the bible says about the symbols.
In the bible; there are many references to statues being linked to idols. and in the ten commandments exodus 20:4 4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Interestingly enough, the name Mary actually means bitter.

This may have something to do with the fact that roses are beautiful to look at but if you are not careful when you touch the rose it will prick you. The color red is often associated with passion for something so maybe God is showing you that the rose was nice to look at but too much passion for it will "prick you"

blue can be linked with sorrow, as in feeling blue, the gold can mean idolatry considering the bible refers to idols made of gold. women are usually referred to as the church. perhaps God is actually showing you that the church has made mary an idol

Idk if you have even been considering changing to catholicism but it seems to me as God is reaching out to you in many signs to show you that though it may have an apperance of beauty like the rose it will ultimately sting. remember in proverbs 10:22 it says The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no sorrow to it.
