Geo ... does original sin condemn to hell or just not being able to enter beatitude? I'm thinking of unbaptized children in particular.

Marcia
Marcia,
Though many modern theologians pontificate on this topic quite a bit, it is difficult to do without undermining the need to be baptized as a child of God, and die to your old self, born again into the Body of Christ.
What we can say with certainty, is that man is bound by the Sacraments and that God is not, and therefore may mysteriously provide oppurtunities for the salvation of those who were not able to receive the Sacraments on Earth.

Most likely, they go to Limbo, where they enjoy natural happiness forever but not the Beatific Vision. We may, however, hope in God's mercy that he allows the unbaptised into heaven. We don't know for certain either way, but since Limbo has been the general consensus (although not defined doctrine) until the past 50 years or so, I tend to believe Limbo exists, although I hope those who would go to Limbo make it to heaven.

If Limbo does exist, then it's one more reason why abortion needs to be stopped now.

Reject the Holy Spirit
right. From a Scriptural point of view, "Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" is the only unforgivable sin. Hence, everyone who goes to hell has blasphemed (essentially rejected) the Holy Spirit in their hearts.

How do we reject the Holy Spirit? We do not repent of our sins.

I am not asking why did God create hell or Satan or anything like that. I just want to know, what is it that a person does or doesn't do that causes them to go to hell?

Pride and disobedience.

Disobedience = Lucifer said "I will not serve." And he went to hell.

Pride = If one sinned by dishonesty, one sinned like a man. If one sinned by sensuality, one sinned like a beast. But if one sinned by pride, one sinned like an angel. That angel is Lucifer & we all know he is in hell.

Can I get the biblical reference to where Lucifer spoke those words?
Thanks!

Ave Maria!
