*yes I know, Gargamel's cat*;)

But seriously, I've heard mention of the Biblical angel of death being named Azrael, but I've never found the names of any angel's other than Michael and Gabriel. Where does this origin come from?

As far as I know, Azrael is the Angel of Death in Roman Catholic and Islamic mythology. He isn't mentioned in the canonical Bible. He supposedly is mentioned in the Apocryphal book of Tobit. But I searched my King James Apocrypha for his name, and I couldn't find it.

If you go to this web site, you can pick a "Dark and mysterious hallway to go down"

Hmmm ... Christian? Dark? Ummm ... No.

Another dark website (the cover page is black)

His true and inspiring legacy begins in ancient Babylon. Azra (
azra-1.jpg
), whose name means help in biblical Hebrew, was one of the descendants of the powerful priests of Aaron. He was born into a time of great upheaval but also one of great promise.

But still not found in the KJV Bible, Vulgate, Douay Rheims, I can't find Azra.
But the fact that they say Azra began in Babylon raises some issues with me. Also, I thought angels were created beings and not "born".

This site is just plain creepy

And now for something perhaps closer to the truth?
