WHEN DID LUCIFER FALL FROM HEAVEN?

Dear brothers and sisters,

I would like to share a recent revelation I believe the Lord Jesus gave me concerning the fall of Satan (Lucifer) from heaven. I have not heard anyone preach this before, yet the Lord has probably revealed this to other believers who have sort Him, I also believe it biblically
disproves popular beliefs and is coherent with all related Scriptures.

I ask that you read the King James Version of each Scripture and if necessary, return to the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts.

I will add the topical Scriptures at the bottom so you can refer to them as you read my interpretation.

It has often been assumed that Lucifer (Satan) fell from heaven (according to Isaiah 14:12-14) before Adam was created (the pre-Adamite rebellion theory).
Dr Kent Hovind rightly discerned that this would bring "death" in before
man. Hovind points out this heresy and mentions that Lucifer was in "Eden" (Ezekiel 28:13) and was perfect in his ways until "iniquity was found" in him (v15).

Yet Dr Hovind assumes that this was when Lucifer was cast out of heaven.
Keep in mind that nowhere in Ezekiel 28 does it mention Lucifer being cast out of heaven. It does mention his sin, but not his banishment from heaven. Genesis 3:14-15 speaks of the curse of the serpent (crawling on his belly), but does not
Refute that the spirit of Lucifer (who is not subject to a serpent’s body) was able to fly. Satan is also known as the ‘prince of the power of the air’, and was able to go to heaven in the days of Job (Job 2:1-6) and accuse him.

Also, Isaiah 14:12 speaks of Lucifer falling from heaven, but remember, Isaiah is in the Spirit in verse 12(which is eternal, thus not limited or in time). Isaiah is declaring an eternal truth but not necessarily indicative or limited to his day, or the past).

Problem:
  • If Lucifer fell from heaven in the time of Eden, then why is he in heaven accusing Job, in Job 2:4-5?
  • Why is the dragon (Satan) fighting against Michael in heaven after the "man child" (Jesus) is born? (Revelation 12:5-7) If he was cast down at the time of the Garden of Eden?
  • Why do readers assume Lucifer fell from heaven at the time of Eden?

  • Considering Revelation 12:8 says there was no place in heaven for Satan and his angels, nor to accuse the brethren (Revelation 12:10), This would mean that Satan would not be able to accuse Job before God (Job 2:1-6) if he was cast out of heaven at the time of “Eden”.

Satan fell from heaven when Christ rose from the dead. Jesus says in John 12:31 "Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the prince of this world be cast out". I used to read and interpret this verse, that, Satan would be cast out of this world at Jesus’ time of death, but Jesus is saying that Satan would be cast out of heaven. Satan is the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) and had reason to be in heaven because he had power over death (Hebrews 2:14), yet Jesus being victorious and triumphing over death, caused that Satan be cast out of heaven into the earth. Jesus now has the keys of death and hell. Satan has no power or place in the third heaven.

May the Lord Jesus bless you in this study and enlighten your understanding.

GENESIS 3:14-15
14And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

JOB 2:1-6

1Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. 2And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 3And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. 4And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. 6And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

ISAIAH 14:12

How art thou fallen from heaven O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground which did weaken the nations!

EZEKIEL 28:13-15
13Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

JOHN 12:31

31Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

REVELATION 12:7-12

7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Are we in the time of Tribulation now? It seems you do think so.
I doubt it.

It is in fact a pretty interesting and a very important question to explore.

Answer this: Why does God tolerate satan at the time of Job? Or, push it further back, at the time of Adam?

God will not tolerate sin. That is why we need Jesus. We easily sin against God. Does satan ever do anything like we sinned? Satan made Adam and Eve sin without having himself sinned, then what could make satan be kicked out of the Heaven?

Well, I believe that this thread is the PLACE of Tribulation. I'm feeling God's wrath right now...
When you choose to read a thread where the OP cites Dr^h^hMr Kent Hovind, what did you expect?

You are correct on the timing of Satan being cast out of heaven, but Ezekiel 28:13 is refering to man who was made perfect in the image of God in the day that God created man, (until iniquity was found in man)

Man was cast out of the Garden of Eden, Satan was cast out of the Mount of God.

But the covering cherub mentioned is the spirit of the devil (spirit of a lie) that entered into man that caused him to sin against God.

This spirit of covering is the carnal mind (flesh) that strives against the Spirit of God.

If you do some study on the mind of the flesh, and the mind of the Holy Spirit you will see this division more clearly. That is also the same division between the serpents seed (flesh) and the womans seed (Spirit.)

hi writer,

I'm in agreement. Prior to Jesus' victory over death, Lucifer, like any other angel could travel from heaven to earth just as is described in the book of Job. However, once Jesus gained the victory, Lucifer was cast down to the earth and has been doing his best to destroy God's people ever since. It is curious to note that there is really much less concern with Lucifer in the old covenant, although he is described, than in the new.

God bless you and, yes, I'm one who is in agreemtent.

As three is the number of perfect harmony we have three groups of Angels...

1. Michael - Strong Angels
2. Gabriel - Wise Angels
3. Lucifer - Worshiping Angels

This continued through the eternities until Lucifer's heart began to wax cold with pride...

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nation! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." - Isaiah 14:12

"And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born." - Rev 12:3-5

It is my reckonings that Satan was cast out into the void of space...

If… E=mc2 then we can divide and conclude that

Matter (m) = E (energy) / c2 (light)

And there are three varieties…

Mass – Is basically stored energy and light.
Mentality – Our thinking can produce an energy and a light!
Spiritually – E (energy, motivation, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

If E = mc2 we can assume the inverse, and conclude….

n (nothing) = z (absolute zero) / d (darkness)

And to measure the effects on the spiritual level…

n (nothing) – emptyness with no motivation
z (absolute zero) – cold (don’t be a brother polar bear!)
d (darkness) – the opposite of faith, hope, charity, and joy would be… fear, depression, hate, and sorrow!

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. - 2 Cor 11:14

It is in my imagination, as satan fell, that he was stripped of the true light and energies. As he was an angel of light he attempts to bring light unto planet earth... But because he is not of the true E/c2... There is no warmth about him.

The demonic spirits dwelt in this darkness perhaps millions of years, until the Lord God uttered these words...

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. - Genesis 1:3

This was the big boom.... With God's light and energy the universe was created and the universe has been expanding out ever since. It is my estimation that 15 billions years expired before the utterance of these words...

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. - Genesis 1:5

So... In my estimation Satan has been kicked out of heaven for the period of between 14-16 billion years. It has been so long since he has experienced the true light and energies that he despises it.

Mankind has been created to fill the void left in satans wake. As Lucifer the old dragon does not want us up there playing with his old toys he wars with us over the heavenly stake.

hi Juve,

Well, let's see, you're probably referring to Revelation chapter 12. I'd like you to study that chapter and tell me when John saw that vision and when the event that that vision speaks of took place? Keep in mind as you consider this that the passage begins by saying the woman was about to give birth. When do you believe the woman was about to give birth?

Then it says that after the dragon swept a third of the stars from heaven that he stood in front of the woman about to give birth. To me, this would seem that the time of the dragon sweeping a third of the stars from heaven is the same time as the opening claim of the time when the woman was about to give birth. When was/is that?

God bless you.

That is good.

However, it would put the current time into the period of Tribulation. Would it not?

What time period would you say it was visioned/wrote?

CHURCH FATHERS: Revelation of St. John

After the taking up of our Lord Jesus Christ, I John was alone upon Mount Tabor, where also He showed us His undefiled Godhead; and as I was not able to stand, I fell upon the ground, and prayed to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, who has deemed me worthy to be Your servant, hear my voice, and teach me about Your coming. When You shall come to the earth, what will happen? The heaven and the earth, and the sun and the moon, what will happen to them in those times? Reveal to me all; for I am emboldened, because You listen to Your servant

Hi Juve,

I didn't see the answer to my question in your response. When was the time of the woman about to give birth?

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted

One possibility is that the birth implies the restoration of the Jewish State in 1948 (?). Or, do you prefer to see is as the birth of Lord Jesus?

I don't have a good idea about it. But that is what I can think of.
