First off, I tried to post this in the prophetic forum, but it seems all I can do there is read posts only!

Anyway, in the past few weeks, I have developed a body twitch that is
always jerking me to the left - just leaning the body trunk. I have been watching the Florida outpouring recently and have felt much closer to God during this time, but this twitching is happening alot, sometimes every minute, and it is involuntary. During prayer, it increases.

Anyway, I heard that different gestures have a symbolic meaning that the Holy Spirit is trying to show. What does the "left" indicate?
I have really felt God is moving in my life, and need some advice.

Please dont let this thread be hijacked by the Florida healing outpouring - this is about twitching and their prophetic meaning.

thanks!

Oh well, I am not a neuroligist, but I am His Disciple and have been around the healing and deliverance ministry for sometime, and many mature members say that the left side means that you are out step with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Twitching like this comes under the Kunanlini manifestations.

You've answered your question.

Ask our Lord Jesus Christ to take it away from you, as you don't want it. And if it goes then at least you are still in the good books with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Anyway, I heard that different gestures have a symbolic meaning that the Holy Spirit is trying to show.
Yair, they all say that. Have you ever consider an "unholy spirit"?

What does the "left" indicate?
Out of step with our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have really felt God is moving in my life, and need some advice.
Yep, many of us feel that way, but first off before we come to that decision we need to test all spirits, and be a Berean.

Whatever your heart's desire is you get, either way, Holy or unholy.

Why not have a read of some Christian books on healing and deliverance by such people as Neil Anderson, Francis MacNutt, Kurt Koch, Derek Prince and many more.

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.
thanks!

I went to a church as a visitor sometimes and the pastor was a lady and the minute she started preaching her right hand shook violently and would shake through the entire sermon - when finished - she was fine and no shaking. Every time she prayed or preached the shaking was pretty hard - but when just talking - it did not shake. She says that is her anointing.

Where the heck does the belief that twitching to the left indicates that one is out of step with Jesus originate from? Who comes up with this stuff?

My advice is to be a Berean and ignore made up explanations for twitching that find no support in scripture whatsoever.

Back when I was a baby Christian, about 25+ years ago, a Pentecostal girl in the CMA campus fellowship I attended used to tremble for a while before prophesying. She had some really good words for us -- IMO, more penetrating and uplifting than the vast majority of prophetic utterances I heard from older, more "mature" believers in "real" Pentecostal churches over the succeeding years.

But I don't happen to think that there's a necessary relationship among trembling, prophesying, and *quality* of prophesying. That just happens to be the way I remember it.

okay, i have a few different responses. really, i am most concerned if this is a spiritual
attack and i have searched my heart to see if there is anything I dont done to give
space to the enemy. I am unaware of anything, and so feel that maybe it maybe a
natural occurance. I am aware of God's anointing on my life, even when i wake in the
morning, but I dont want to over-spiritualise everything.

It reminds me of one of Hagin's (Sr.) books, where he visited this church that had a lady on the front row who would start rocking in her seat as the ministry time got going. After a night or two he asked the Pastor there about it and he said something like "Oh yeah, we know when the Holy Spirit's here because she really gets to moving!" Hagin said he's never heard of the gift of rocking, and to be wary of things like it. We shouldn't look to one or two people to see if God is manifesting His presence, we should be able to sensitively discern it for ourselves.

That's the best I can recall the story. Some of you may remember it better - or correctly if I was wrong! lol

I have seen trembling and I have seen the twitching. I can honestly say that I do not believe the individuals who were experiencing this were doing it deliberately. The onset of these physical manifestations were not present prior to what they describe as encounter with God. I do not believe they were made up and I do not have scripture to support what they experienced. However, to call ungodly or God is not my job. I have even experienced trembling myself but to focus on that is outrageous. I wouldn't have known I was even trembling if it were not for someone who spoke of it afterwards. Yes, by the way, it does happen at home as well as in services. I do not believe one needs to seek the experience and I certainly didn't seek the experience, as I have enough to explain to my non-charismatic family or non-pentecostal family and friends. The only problem I had with it was when a big mouth went around telling it around town and I had to answer for his big mouth.

Again, I was totally unaware of it until others mentioned it. I think perhaps in my experience it was just one of those things that happens and should not be the focus of why or why not. It just happened.

This is something I have experienced first hand - once while being anointed and many times while speaking in tongues. I'm not sure what causes it, but it never occurs when I'm not praying.

I would say that as long as you're not experiencing any other symptoms, you shouldn't have to see a nuerologist, as the motor cortex, hypothalamus, thalamus and brainstem rarely go "bad" without causing other problems. (Sorry if you got lost, I'm kind of a physiology nerd)

If you don't desire the manifestation, then pray that it would be removed. Though, for me, it doesn't concern me, though sometimes it concerns the people around me.
