What's the Biblical Meaning of Witchcraft in a Dream?

I have never in my life been interested in witchcraft. I've been a believer most all of my life (since childhood). A few nights ago, however, I had a dream that I was learning about becoming a witch through a training process (but it wasn't presented to me that way, it was presented in an 'exciting' way so I didnt realize it was witchcraft). During my last training before I became 'official', I realized what was going on and I immediately began to call on the Holy Spirit and said to the 'teachers', "No, the Holy Spirit is within me. I am a Christian." From that point on, the other two ppl (teacher and student) began to follow me around and try to hurt me or get in my way. They would try to hurt my physically and as they were hitting me with things, I kept saying over and over "I have the Holy Spirit, you can't hurt me". They never left me alone...they were always standing at a distance but I always knew they were there because I could see them. They followed me everywhere. Eventually I woke up.

What does that say to people? I'm still trying to process through it and am getting stuck.

Pray and ask the Lord, read His Word and see what He tells you. It is definitely talking about spiritual warfare and deception and how we can think one thing is going on while it is something else entirely different than what we thought - the great deceiver - wolves in sheep's clothing.

Perhaps there is something you are participating in or watching (like a TV show or a movie or games) that you think are harmless but the Lord is trying to reveal to you that evil lurks behind what seems to be innocent in nature and the reason you can't get away and they are always there is that you are continually feeding them through whatever activities you may be involved in.

I don't know you obviously so I can't say for certain what God is trying to show you, but that is what it sounds like to me. If I were you, I would do a spiritual inventory of everything in my life and examine it before God and ask Him what he approves of and what He disapproves of and then see what He tells you.

I had another dream last night about this kind of thing. I was with a group of kids that I work with (but it wasnt really them...a few were but most of them were kids I didnt know). Anyway, the kids I were with were into hurting themselves and each other. A few of them kept hurting me and i kept telling them to stop but they wouldn't. This one girl kept cutting me with razor blades (When I woke up the arm she threw a razor blad into - my right bicep - hurt!). It was such a vivid dream I could feel all the painful things happening. Then I remember being by that building from my dream above where the evil spirit lived in the basement and sometimes in the attic. I remember looking up and seeing him looking down at me but he wasn't a person he was a spirit being/ghost. It was such a weird dream. I didnt like how i could FEEL the things happening. I could feel the cuts going into my skin. Ugh that hurt. I remember trying to avoid the basement and the attic out of fear and yet a part of me wanted to "get back" at the spirit/ghost. I dunno if anyone has any thoughts....very odd and I'm tired of dreaming about it because it leaves me unsettled. I wonder if I'm dealing with someone that I dont really know. I mean, I have been reading Deuteronomy and for the past few weeks I've vividly heard the Lord telling me to be obedient and he will "Give me the land" (i.e. a neighborhood I am trying to start a non-profit in but am still trying to raise the funding). Is he purifying me and Satan is getting irritated? Can Satan get in our dreams or is God trying to tell me something? UGH I really wnat to understand.

I just read your accounts of your dreams which were quite interesting. I just want to give you my thoughts on what you should do in order to not be intimidated by these spiritual forces that seem to be harrassing you.

First of all, if you have a church family, or a close friend who is in Christ and/or someone who is closer to the Lord than you, I recommend you get that person or a group from your church and have them come to your place and just fill that house with praise and worship to the Lord of lords. Let it be several hours of focus on the King.... As you do that, consider going into every part of the house and anoint the rooms with oil (symbolic of the Spirit's presence, and dedication to His purposes). Consider anointing the doorframes and the windows...

Then, you need to be aggressive in maintaining your own spiritual stance in Christ, making sure that there aren't things in your life that you are allowing that aren't good for you (perhaps not forbidden, but perhaps not good for your welfare). In the first dream, you mention finding yourself in the midst of something that you realize isn't good for you (and definitely forbidden). [I hope you're not a Harry Potter fan which, though entertaining, can be, in my opinion, a spiritual opening for the enemy.] Then you begin to be harassed because of your attachment to that previous thing... I would make sure there aren't things in your past that you are attached to, and thus are causing you to be under spiritual attack & pain now. Ask God to reveal any such areas.

Third, remember the dream--you understood the fact that nothing could hurt you because of the Holy Spirit within you Who truly is more powerful than any spiritual darkness... But, perhaps they can attack, and thus can hurt you...but you should stand on (by meditating on this truth) the verse of I John which says that the enemy cannot touch you when you are abiding in Him.

Anyway, maintain your closeness to Him as you go through this next season in your life. God wants to use you but the enemy wants to frustrate and intimidate you.

You've gotten some great advice.

I know last year? I had a very strange dream. One in which I rose up into the air & levitated. I started saying in the name of Jesus put me down. I had no control & I sensed in my dream how evil the power that lifted me upwards was.
I believe that either I was attacked, bcause some territorial spirits know that I take my faith seriously(The Spirit told me months bfore the dream that "they know who you are & they don't like you") or someone with witchcraft powers decided to cause me problems.

Take no guff from them. Clean out anything ungodly in your house, pray, listen to praise music all night softly if you like & memorize scripture. They can't stand to have verses quoted to them by someone who really means every word

Christiangal...I keep leaving this thread and going back to playing word games in this forum...and this is the 3rd time the Holy Spirit has directed me back to your thread and your dream(s)

Your second dream which you describe seems even more disturbing than the first, because of the actual physical pain that you felt.

Which event would anger satan more: opening another new church? or opening a new ministry in a bad neighborhood where people who are eternally lost have a good chance of hearing and receiving the gospel? You guessed it. The ministry (and the land) which the Lord is giving you has the devil and his demons quite vexed. The demons know they've got people and souls that they'll lose to Christ, and lots of them.

So keep in prayer and stay in God's Word. Like someone else said, keep away from anything like Harry Potter or horror films. (Not that I'm saying that you do that!)

Christiangal: Your hope and your safety is completely in Christ. He holds the key to that new ministry in that neighborhood. It's in His hand. He'll give you the key when it's time. In the mean time, the enemy is doing his best to shake you. I'd like to pray for you right now, if I could.

Dear Father, I come boldly to your throne, seeking protection and wisdom from You...for christiangal. Father let these disturbing dreams cease now in Jesus name. Give her dreams and visions and speak to her through your Holy Word. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.

I understand how you feel. The true realizm of the pain can be quite intense. In my thread "Tortered in my sleep" I only posted that one because it was a recurring dream. The thing is it is not that bad considered to some that I have had. I have died in some of the worst ways imaginable during my dreams feeling the pain the whole way. Imagine if you will beging crushed to death. The horrible pressure, feeling your bones break, the searing pain. Shot, stabbed, ripped apart, drowned, ect,. I have been through it all and felt it every step of the way. I have been chased down and hunted by faceless men. Faced hords of demons in terrible battles. Sometimes I think it's a miracle I haven't gone mad.

There isn't much advice I can give on the subject other than all you can do is endure them and keep on keepin on. Cheesy I know lol.

If people are trying to hurt you have you considered fighting back? If someone is cutting you with razor blades punch them in the face. Asking God to protect you from demons is one thing but it's not going to help against another person. That pesky free will issue.

Also yes Satan is going to throw you some curves especially if your trying to do something good. Christans catch far more hell than nonchristans for a reason.

Now the next time you dream about this demon you have to face it. Walk right up to it, get in it's face, and tell it your not afraid of it. Tell it you don't care what it does you will not be stopped. It can only hold power over you as long as you fear it. You must stand up to it.
