What's the Biblical Meaning of Spiders in Dreams?

I am scared to death of spiders. I don't even like to look at them at the zoo. I don't remember much about my dreams but I had one about a spider last night. I wasn't afraid of it. It followed me around and was HUGE! I mean like tarantula size. But it was a barbeque red color and dark brown or black. It followed me everywhere I went. I think I was in my house and I couldn't get away from it. I don't remember being scared of it really but there were things falling around it and hitting it and never killed it. Any ideas?

Typically, spiders in dreams such as these represent sin. So, this dream would suggest that there is some large sin in your life that is still hanging over you *(i.e., "following you around)* that you have not yet confessed and/or repented of...

Ask God to show what the sin in your life is. Ask Him to send His Holy Spirit to lovingly show it to you, and to convict you of it, so you can turn from it and repent. Then, follow Jesus.

It all depends on what is going on in your life, that your subconscious is trying to tell you.

I've read some things about spiders representing fear. That it is the "spinner" and the "weaver". A threatening trickster, but then I found something else that it can be a good omen(many small ones), unless its a tarantula(bad omen). I think it is also a feminine symbol. I wouldn't directly link the spider with sin, there are so many interpretations of it. Just research it on the net if you feel unsure.

You can overcome your fear of spiders. They are more frightened of us than we are of them. Spiders are great little creatures, they help the environment. The spider in your dream is really just a symbol of something in your subconscious you've been holding back maybe? but, I hope one day you can laugh about being scared of them.

Hmmmm..............I've had a few spider dreams. In one I went after a spider (big one .....about cat size) As soon as I caught it the legs dissappeared and I started cutting the body part evenly in sections.

Also in another dream i saw spiders climbing on a wall like fence with vines on it.............their legs got stuck and their bodies flew into a small pool of deep water.

I was thinking my spiders had to do with doctrin

Also in another dream i saw spiders climbing on a wall like fence with vines on it.............their legs got stuck and their bodies flew into a small pool of deep water.

Could be. False doctrine could be seen as a trap of the Deceiver, much like a spider's web. However, a tarantula deosn't spin webs, so....maybe the spider in your dream represents a/the Devil, who may be setting traps for you right now. Have you been taught false doctrine in the past? Is there anyone you listen to right now whose teaching hasn't been helping you, or that you don't understand, that you are still clinging to? The dream COULD be a warning about some lies the Enemy is planning to send your way. "In the last days, evil men shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils."

It would be best if you prayed about it, and asked Him what the dream meant.

Thank you Ajax..........yes I have examined my dream and taken my questions to Jesus ......My big spiders did spin webs.......and one was big that was a wolf spider that came from under a coffee table......


Of course I have been exposed to false doctrine...........my life has put me in many churches and when I wasn't close to Jesus I was exposed to things that I read over the internet.

I divided the spider which was solid like meat........so I beleive I was being shown by the Holy Spirit(who was in my dream)that I would be able to discern the false doctrine and I did also have a metal like blade in my hand as I was dividing the spider.

I will try to find my dream on the other site I go to....

Perhaps not always, but I think in this case Tamara has already confirmed that they were/are. It was HER dream.
