I can think of a few different possibilities to consider. It may be one or more of the following:

1. The Lord is using you to pray for people in your dreams

2. It's an encouragement to be more involved in paying for the sick & demonised in your waking hours

3. It's advance notice & some preparation for what is coming your way in the future

4. It's providing some insight into the spiritual dynamics behind people you may know who are sick. Perhaps opening your mind to some new possibilities.

5. It's highlighting an ability God has given you
Intercession (Praying for others) is not mentioned in any of the lists of gifts of the Spirit mentioned in the New Testament. But it does seem that some people have more ability to pray for longer, be more disciplined in prayer or see answers to prayer more often. (Eg Col 4:12) The exepectation from the Lord of the use of this ability could be seen as a "calling".

is this a kind of God's calling?
The term "calling" is interpreted by people in different ways. It might be helpful for you to dig into what this means to you. Would you mind elaborating here? Some bible word searches for "called" & "calling" may help. See BibleGateway - Quick search: called chosen for an example.

Good list.

My personal opinion on calling is that we are all called, especially to pray. Some of us need more incentive and quiet moments than others. Sometimes God has spurred me to pray through showing me how exciting the mission is.

I have experienced this only a couple times; the dreams have turned out to represent national events, where I believe prayers were needed ahead of time so responders would be ready, and observers would dive in to help. Did any of the dreams turn out to appear real events?

God gives gifts when people need to receive. God answers prayers when people ask for them. If someone was begging God for support, His answer might be to lead others to pray...activating more things. If someone needs tangible help, God brings another a gift to deliver to them.

God's gifts seldom fly around random, or find exclusive ownership in a person. Gifts appear when they need to be delivered. So if you have a calling to do something, it is important to act on it. Acting on a one-time calling might not lead to a title of a calling.

Jesus used examples like the parable of the talents, where the master gives more to the person who invested what they were given.

Praying in dreams is very cool. I hope more understanding becomes clear. I don't think it's your imagination.

Btw people have different strengths in prayer, so don't assume you're supposed to be entirely good in everything, or to want to mirror how others pray.

The people who diligently follow a prayer list every day are not always the same as the ones who get inspired insights on unusual prayer needs. God wants us all to pray, but we have different personalities and tendencies.
