A spiritual "whoremonger" could be a false prophet or teacher who tempted folk away from a true worship of God to worship false gods, therefore committing unfaithfulness to God. Hosea was instructed to marry a prostitute to show how Israel had prostituted itself with canaanite gods.

I did not know of the wages of this sinful issue: 1 Corinthians 3:17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for God's temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

The good thing is that renewal awaits those repentant of heart. However it is no pleasure to fall in the hands of the living God a willful sinner. For our Lord repays according to deed and such may well hurt heaps for a long time, if that is the consequence of the deed. Yet our Lord is with those who are contrite of heart but destroys those who raise themselves up against Him.

The Greek word is πόρνος (pornos), it's the masculine form of πόρνη (porne). In other words a πόρνος is a male prostitute.
