Where are you seeing trust being used, as The Gospel of John uses believe. Believing in Jesus for Eternal Life salvation is different than trusting in Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
The fact that we have and know we have, beyond any doubt, we the indwelling Holy Spirit, there is very little "trusting" needed.
The problem is there are "Christians", in tittle only, who are not experiencing the Spirit within them, so is He even there?

In Proverbs 3:1-7, we have a choice between leaning on our own understanding of right and wrong by doing what is right in our own eyes or trusting with all of our heart in God to correctly divide between right and wrong by obeying His instructions in all of our ways and He will make our way straight, so this is what it means to trust God and is how He is saving us. Jesus saves us from our sin (Matthew 1:21) and sin is the transgression of God's law (1 John 3:4), so Jesus leading us to be a doer of it is intrinsically the way that he is giving us his gift of saving us from not being a doer of it. The way to put our trust in God's word made flesh is by embodying God's word through following his example of obedience to it.

I think that in regard to trusting in one's salvation, we need to trust in Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross.

It means your hope and trust are in God rather than in yourself or in man. This reverses Adam's distrust of God within us; this is to experience reconciliation with Him again, to place us back into a state of justice, now with God as we're meant to be as opposed to alienated from Him.
"Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him, and so your faith and hope are in God." 1 Pet 1:21

When you see Jesus you see God, To the extent that we know Jesus we know God. When we believe in, hope in, and love Jesus we believe in, hope in, and love God. Jesus is the "express image of God" because He is God. And that relationship is your salvation.

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:3

MANY perhaps the MAJORITY of people posting on here are at best casual believers. I know get the pitch forks out and torches lit. I know because I was one of them. If you are not DAILY studying scripture then how can you tell me you "KNOW" this that or the other???

Test time... HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW that in ALL 4 Gospel accounts, Jesus said the following... IF ANYONE DESIRES TO COME AFTER ME (AKA BE MY FOLLOWER) LET HIM DENY HIMSELF (humble yourself by becoming a servant to ALL) PICK UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME. IN ALL 4 he also tells us to be DOERS of the word...

So if you are not in the Word EVERY DAY how can you "claim" you are a doer of the Word? Seems to me that in order to DO what the bible says you have to be STUDYING, READING, AND APPLYING IT TO YOUR DAILY LIFE.

You want to know why Christianity is DEAD in America? Sure, there are pockets of believer who are doing and not just yapping...I hope what I am about to say upsets some of you...

The protestant megachurch is NOT a movement of GOD. It is FLESHLY, CORRUPT, SINFUL, Arrogant, and PRIDEFUL. It does NOT have its mind set on the things of God but it excuses sin as acceptable. It has members of its body that are not married and living together as husband and wife engaging in OPEN SIN. It has couples engaged in open Homosexuality...

I do not attend any "organized" religious services. The "praise and worship" is a rock concert environment and is all about evoking emotional responses from the attendee's is its a feast of the flesh. I'm saying this as a professional musician. There is a MASSIVE difference between going to a concert to see an artist perform and what is going on in these churches. You dont go to a concert to go see a Joe Bonamassa because he is leading "worship" which isn't even what worship IS!!


We as modern believers toss around words and change their meanings. See we think a testimony is telling your salvation story. IT IS NOT. Your testimony is YOUR LIFE. HOW YOU TREAT OTHERS and how GOD had CHANGED YOU. It is NOT said with words. IT IS YOUR DAILY WALK. And that is also what your WORSHIP OFFERING TO GOD IS.... this is why PAUL says at the end of his life: I HAVE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT... IF YOU are NOT in scripture EVERY DAY and in PRAYER EVERY DAY you have to REALLY QUESTION your own salvation. I am not judging you but if there is no fruit YOU should be asking what are you doing??

In revelation we are told that some will be captured and they are to "HOLD FAST" for 10 days and they will be executed for their faith... to him who persevere I will give to him a crown of life... and you cant find 5 mins to thank God for the day he has given you? And you dont have 30 mins to spend in scripture????????? Really then if you are called to lay down your life what makes you think you will have the strength to no cave?????? What you think God is going to supernaturally rescue you?? WHO ARE YOU WHO HAS NO TIME FOR GOD that you think he should stop all of heaven for YOU... you are like the girl who just teases. She has no real genuine interest but is just playing... Either be HOT for the lord or stop wasting your time.
