What Does the Bible Say About Spiritual Ringing in the Ears?

i have ringing ears all the time! but i can hear it (and it annoys me most) when its quiet which is usually when I'm trying to pray or sudy.

its called tinitus. unless you only get it when you pray and not when its just quiet, then i wouldnt know.

But, what you're experiencing really might not be a side-effect of your medication. Like with Explorer96, I too get this ringing in my ears when there is no noise in the background. It gets so annoying that I can't sleep at night unless I have a fan blowing or some sort of white noise in the background.

I was diagnosed two times with ADHD, once as a child and once as an adult. There was a long period of time in between when I wasn't taking any medication, and during this time I still had the same problem. So, I know that it can't be the medication that causes this.

When I was a kid, my mom took me to go see a doctor because she didn't know what was wrong with me. The doctor told me that it was just the sound of my own blood that I was hearing. Apparently, a blood vessel is located somewhere close to the little hairs that beat on my ear drums, thus causing that ringing noise that I hear so much.

It's not really noticeable when there's other noises causes those same hairs to move, but when it's totally quiet the ringing becomes apparent and it drives me nuts!

It's possible that your problem is like mine, and you just have a blood vessel or vein or something located near your inner ear and that's why you have a ringing in your ears when there's no other noise.

It is spiritual and it means truth is not quite in you but God is leading you to Salvation. It is a lie in your heart which causes your ears to ring. This world is a lie so escape is narrow. Better to pray for truth and live the consequences of a world that is falling away as we watch.

Sorry, but you have no idea if the OPs ear ringing is spiritual. Where in the Bible is that? How do you know the OP isn't saved?

I have this problem for a long period of my life. Years actually. Then as i began to change my life and resist Satan I began to see a decrease in the problem. I thought at first it was because I was taking supplements that increased the prostaglandine E1 level in my blood. This was not the case.

When I was talking to my Aunt about a sticky situation she began to automatically accuse me of my old behavior and immediately when I felt the dread, the fear of rejection, the fear that I had done something wrong, (Which I had not!) and these toxic emotions flooded in the ringing in my ears became SHARP and so strong I could barely stand it. I still do not know what evil spirit causes this, because they all came in like a flood when my Aunt tripped that old trigger in my brain that told me I was 'in trouble' in a social situation.

The second thing that lets me know that this is a spiritual issue is that I can say this:

I hear a spirit,
It is a dark spirit, (Of the devil.)
I reject this spirit,
Because I am touched by the blood of Jesus,
I bind this spirit,
I command it to go,
Holy Spirit come and heal me and tell me Your truth.

The spirit has to leave. Then something happens and I believe a lie, and WHAM! It's back again.

I HATE Satan because of the evil works he does. I hate this ringing in my ears and I am starting to pray that Jesus will reveal what causes this ringing in my ear and what lie justifies it in tormenting me. (It has to have justification.)

If anyone knows more about this, Please help me. I think it is an accusing/self bitterness spirit. I do not know for sure though. I'll let you know when I find relief what my problem was.

Are you taking ibuprofen??---I had started getting ringing in my ears and I thought, oh, no, tinnitis--strangely enough, a few days later, Dr. Oz had s segment about ibuprofen causing deafness, and one of the first signs is ringing in the ears. I had to go for my quarterly dr visit and my labs showed that my kidney function had dropped by half and the dr took me completely off ibuprofen--It's been a week with out it and no more ringing in my ears.

I had no idea about this--and neither did I know that it can make you a little sick to come off ibuprofen for some people--like slight withdrawl symptoms. I took 4 twice a day for my back and neck issues. That first week was no fun, everything hurt like crazy, things are settling down some now--I also have fibro. Dr Oz says that he was surprised by how many people were affected in their ears by Ibuprofen.

It was rrevealed to me that I have a lack of faith. That is the problem, or at least the pointer to the cure for the problem. Having real faith in Jesus is what saves us. having faith in Him causes the other problems to go away.

How is it that faith is the work of faith? If we have faith in Jesus we will do the commandments, go out of our way to help others and show compassion for them, and we can ask for things like the Holy Spirit and receive them. =0)

Okay, It has finally been revealed to me what the ringing in the ears is. It is a deaf and dumb spirit. It inflicts people with partial deafness, ringing in the ears, muteness, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, mental illness, insanity, problems focusing, and other learning disabilities.

An event when this spirit was cast out of someone is in the bible. it is in Matthew 17, Mark 9, and Luke 9.

These accounts are of the same event told by different writers. Each account is different. I will post them for easy reference.

In the different passages the demon caused
1) A mute condition (Mark 9:17,25)

5) Gnashing or grating of the teeth in rage (Mark 9:18)
6) Pining away, lifelesness, complete exhaustion (Mark 18,26)
7) Prostrations (Mark 9:22)

9) Screaming
10) Lunacy or insanity (Matthew 17:15)

This spirit threw the boy to the ground, into the fire, and in water attempting to kill him. The spirit had made him deaf and mute. The spirit has tore his body and make him foam at the mouth. It badly bruised him. It caused him to grate his teeth and pine or waste in exhaustion. It made the boy 'sore vexed' or extremely sick. It made him crazy.

Some have said this was epilepsy. These are all conditions of the mind, conditions that effect how we learn or relate to others.

Why couldn't the disciples cast the demon out? The answer is unbelief. This is what the Holy Spirit was telling me all along!!! My unbelief was causing the demon to not release me and come out of me. In the bible stories the father's unbelief is what justified the spirit in sticking around and doing all these horrible things to the boy.

This is interesting because something seems to have been added in my version of the bible. Can you spot it?

It is the last verse. verse 21. It is in these things [ and ] Why? Usually in my version this is something that has been added. Why would it have been added? I do not know!

This is what Mark has to say:

[22] "It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!"
[23] And Jesus said to him, " 'If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes."

All things are possible to him who believes!!! There is a difference between a miracle and a healing. A healing takes time. This is the most common occurrence. Both are miracles of the Lord! It takes time to deal with the sin and issues in our lives. This will most likely not happen overnight! We need therapy and counseling to get rid of this, but I have something for you. We need to understand that this may help us tremendously the first time, it may only help a little the first time, but the main thing is that we start repenting of sin and get rid of it in our lives!!! Sin is the door through which the demons have access into our lives. The first step is to stop dwelling on things we know are evil and put aside the first thought about it rejecting it right away. It will come back, but we can be master over this and simply reject it again.

Here is a prayer that I have copied from a book written by Dr. Artur Mathias.

This is only a suggestion, we can change it as much as is needed to fit our specific situation.

Heavenly Father, In the name of Jesus, I come and repent for the sin of unbelief in my life and in my generations, in my church, in my school, in my city, in my nation. I ask you to forgive me and release me from this curse of unbelief. I forgive myself and release myself from this curse. In the name of Jesus, I cancel all of Satan's power and authority over me because God has forgiven me for my unbelief. Holy Spirit, I ask you to help my unbelief and impart to me your gift of faith.

In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I command the deaf and dumb spirit to depart from me now. In the name of Jesus, I command the blinders to be removed from my eyes. I command my eyes to be open physically and spiritually. (Put your hands on your eyes. It helps me to imagine trying to see something that is not there or difficult to see.)

In the name of Jesus I command that my ears be opened physically and spiritually. (Put your hands on your ears.)

In the name of Jesus I command that the dumb spirit leave my mind and that it be opened to the understanding of the mysteries of God. (Put your hands on your head.) ((See, I totally missed this part when doing the prayers and I have done them twice! Now I will do it again right!))

In the name of Jesus I command that my physical hearing be restored completely, and that insanity, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, confusion, suicidal tendencies, (Anything from the above list that you might have) be cone now in the name of Jesus.

Holy Spirit, I ask that you come and impart to me your fifts of faith, wisdom, understanding, discernment, fevelation, and discernment of spirits, healings, miracles, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

I praies you, Father, in the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, please tell me your truth.

I added this: Holy Spirit please come and teach me the right ways to use your gifts.

Understand that this prayer alone will not do a whole lot for us by itself. I have repeated it a couple of times and it HAS helped, but there are other areas of my life that need attention as well.

That being said, it appears that this prayer is best used with someone helping you to get it all right. I missed part of it and I know I tried to read it all line by line! It would probably help to have someone read it with you while you say it aloud so that you don't miss part of it, or even read it to you and repeat after them if you can't do it. This is not going to be easy. It will take time and may require repeating.

Still not rid of the spirit, but I have made some major progress in my well being. I have silenced the ringing in my ears, but it came back.

There are different words for unbelief, faith, and doubt in the bible when Jesus is talking about accomplishing things through faith.

This is what I have found. Because these things break down into different things all of these different parts muct be repented of and forgiven.

All of these things seem to be able to get in the way. If these, and more seeing as how I have not gotten rid of the spirit in question, are in a person they cannot cast out the demon on their own.


Now I have announced (claimed) the opposite of that list. I feel in my heart much better. I felt a little on the 'empty' side before and felt pain in my throat and chest after repenting and renouncing everything on that list.

This is how I repent for everything on the list.

Father in Heaven, In the name of Jesus and as an act of my own free will I choose to confess and repent for [the list of stuff] in my life and my generations. I forgive myself and generations for these things. In the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood I cancel Satan's power and authority over me because I have sinned. In the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood I command all unclean spirits assigned to me to leave me now, go where God tells them to go and not return to me. In the name of Jesus I command that all unclean things forced on my by Satan be removed from me and I demand that my Godly gifts be returned to me.

Holy Spirit please come into my heart and heal me of these things. Please come and teach me the correct use of your clean and holy gifts. Come into my heart and be my friend. Thank you Lord for all you have done for me and continue to do for me. Amen.

Then I go through the list and made a list of opposites that I wanted to have and announced with my mouth that I claim them.

In the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood I announce [the opposite of the above list] and I ask the Holy Spirit to come to me and attend to these gifts and help them grow. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Other meanings of ringing of the ears could be rebellious spirits around you, i.e., jealous spirits, envy, gossip which all fall under the same strongman. Also, people could be speaking word curses against you rather intentional or non-intentional, regardless we still have to bind those words and rebuke them in the name of Jesus. I've also learned that we do not send negative words and demons to the pits of hell because they are simply able to go to the pit and come back when they are re-released. Instead, we send these demonic things to the 3rd heaven where Michael, Gabriel and all the other angels are who fight these types of battles on a daily basis. For those of you who need more clarification, go to amazon.com and look up the book, Strongman's his name, what's his game, Prayers that Rout Demons, and Breaking Curses. These books are very powerful and you will learn a lot from them. Ringing also let's you know that someone is working against you, whether it be friend or foe and is sending these spirits to you and as we pray, the ringing is an alarm to alert us to their presence. The best way to fight them is to pray in tongues, a gift I do not currently have at the time. Fasting and praying is our only recourse.

TEGMcCall you need to see an eyes ears and nose specialist.

And there is absolutely no correlation between evil spirits and tinnitus. It's something else. Though I believe in evil spirits they are very rare in attacking us especially in this way.
