You may or may not have had the privilege to pray with another Christian who wishes to rededicate his/her life to Christ. Rededication is usually sought by one who has already received Christ as Savior and Lord, but who seeks a deeper dimension in living for Him.

This desire is usually based on several motivations:
Lack of fulfillment "there must be more to the Christian life than I have experienced thus far."
A search for Freedom from sin and guilt resulting from carelessness in daily repentance and confession of sin to God for cleansing and renewal.
A desire to know God's Will for a life of more dedicated service.

He/She whom looks to Rededicate should express their convictions to do so fully and should be congratulated! Our desire to commit all to God pleases Him and is rewarded by Him. See (Hebrews 11:6 and James 4:7,8).

1-Trust God for cleansing in the light, see (Hebrews 9:14 and John 1:9).

2-Submit yourself totally to God in an act of complete obedience see (Romans 12:1,2 & Ephesians 5:15).

3-Seek Fullness in the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18, Ephesians 3:16-19)

4-Make a serious commitment to reading the Scriptures daily and beginning to study them in a planned and disciplined way. (Psalms 119:9,11 & Colossians 3:16)

5-Exercise Prayer daily according to (1Thes. 5:17 & Ephesians 6:18,19)

6- WITNESS TO YOUR FAITH IN Life (Ephesians 2:10) and IN word (Romans 1:16 & Philippians 2:16)

Finally, remember to tell your story to those whom are looking to rededicate their lives to the Lord. Congratulate and Share with them the steps in which you took, in rededicating your Life.
:prayer: :prayer: :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

Father, I pray that this post may touch even one soul Lord, I pray that the words that you have provided will be of help to someone who is seeking to rededicate themselves to you. I rejoice in knowing that there are MANY whom look to gain a deeper fellowship with you Lord. May they be fruitful in doing so. In Jesus' name I pray Amen....

I don't think there's such a thing as rededication. You either are in Christ or you're not! One might walk a long time trying to escape God, but if you're really child of God, the Lord will come after you and discpline you, because He dedicated and separated you from the world to His own purposes and glory when you first believed in Jesus Christ.

I absolutely believe that there is a such thing as rededication. For those whom have lost their FELLOWSHIP with God. Please understand that I am not saying that someone needs to get SAVED again. No I absolutely am not saying that at all. If we are truly saved, we do not lose our SALVATION. We can however, backslide, and lose our FELLOWSHIP with God.

I totally agree with you. If you are TRULY a Child of God, he Will Not Let You Go. I believe he will Speak to you, Spank You and if those two do not work he will Summons you Home. S.S.S. Speak, Spank, Summons.

Thank God he loves us, even when we go astray.

I don't think I've heard it termed "Re-dedication" before, but I like that word more than backsliding. Backsliding is an accurate enough term at times, but it can seem too harsh and not wholly accurate. I've never considered myself a "backslider", but sometimes I do let myself get distracted and don't pray with as much oomph as usual, or let bible study and such take a backseat to new hobbies, etc. Re-dedication sounds like an admirable goal to apply to ourselves when this happens.

Well, It seems that we basically agree. This rededication you're talking about is not just a biblical concept or it does not belong to the Bible's vocabulary.

I need to redidicate myself, I feel none of the passion I used to feel for Christ. And I used to feel a lot, so much that I was filled with this warm feeling almost all day, it was love. But to be honest, I don't think it would be sincere enough, and I'd feel stupid for proclaiming love to someone I already love.

Rededication to living as a Christian is actually quite biblical. While I totally accept my one and only heart transplant based upon the finished work of Jesus and claim my eternal salvation, I also understand that my heart can still be broken and become tired and feel distant from the original joy of my salvation. That condition can and will effect my relationship with the Lord. It's not always a sin thing, life can throw you in the ditch and sometimes we stay there way to long.
Consider this:
Change my heart, oh God
make it ever true
Change my heart, oh God
may i be like you (2x)

You are the potter
I am the clay
Mold me and make me
This is what i pray

Change my heart, oh God
make it ever true
Change my heart, oh God
may i be like you

Ashout, I would recommend reading Psalms 51. I will be praying for you and I would like to ask anyone else who reads this to pray for you as well. You are God's Child and his warmth will return to you. Pray about it, with us....
