Was Holy Communion celebrated during the first moon landing 50 years ago?

What’s sad is that one offended atheist was what led to it being kept secret. And what’s even sadder is that whenever they get people on Mars, I highly doubt a Communion would be seen favorably. People would get offended due to outrage culture.

That's why if Christianity is going to the planets and the stars we better figure out how to get it there. I'm not sure any government is going to volunteer to help. For Catholics and the Orthodox that means bishops in space.

It’s things like that that make me hope there are no aliens, although I understand some theologians have figured out a way.

I ain't got no issues with aliens, presuming they are friendly.

Maybe we are the only fallen planet, and the aliens have a lot to fear from us.

Maybe they are all fallen, with some worse than others. In which case we may find friendlies and nasties.

Maybe we are the ones to spread salvation to the galaxy and the universe beyond.

Who knows. We should go see.

But if we go at least to the Moon and Mars and Ganymede and Europa we will want to have Christians there. How do we get them there? The Chinese probably will not send any Christian into space. Not until the Chinese revolution which overthrows the Communist Party. The EU and the USA probably wouldn't find it worthwhile or appropriate to send an ordained minister, but on the QT the USA might allow a cross-trained minister who served other crew functions. The Russians probably WOULD send some cross-trained Russian Orthodox bishops and a mostly Russian Orthodox crew. So perhaps the future of Christianity in space is Russian Orthodox if the Russians continue into space. Or some less hierarchical ministerial version if the USA actually goes there.
