Visions of Spiders, past hurt, connected?

Just wondering.

Could visions or flashes of spiders be connected to past hurt with men? What if, in the visions or flashes, the spider is seen and felt as a predator, and is seen in conjunction with visions of men in the past that have hurt someone (a woman)? Could there be any spiritual connection there as well? I was raised that dreams mean nothing, then got together with hubby and I think he believes that spiders are representative of evil spirits or demonic presence. The spirits are out to prey on the soul, and bind it, and instill fear into it. I think spiders could mean that partially seeing as how the devil comes as an angel of light, or a wolf in sheeps clothing. Meaning that because spider dreams aren't so unusual, it would be easy to write it off as nothing more than illusions, when perhaps there is oppression and links to the past going on there that need to be dealt with. From what I have heard from various folks, it is not just an illusion, it is a real feeling of being preyed on mixed with being preyed on by various men...it really means something...but what?

I think that spiders mean - bad things (demons, influences, people, events..)

I dreamed I was in a house full of spiders. One of them bit me and I was afraid that maybe it was poisonous. I asked the person about it. And he answered me: they are not for you. (he was basically saying: don't worry about it, it's not going to hurt you)

I understood that statement to mean that these bad things are coming, but they are not going to be really bad for people who are close to God. The protection of Psalm 91 would be about this time period, I believe. And also in Revelation it says: I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming upon the earth. It's like when the Egypt was going through the stuff, the Jews were protected... something like this...

But anyways, yes, I think the spiders represent bad things...

In my experience the spider is representative of something evil imbedded in our lives. It is quite possible it represents a door that was opened in someone's life through situations or actions.

The web is sticky and will catch insects many times the spiders size. The spider sucks the very life of its' prey and wraps it in a deadly cocoon. And that is exactly what satan desires to do to any person he can catch in his web.

I would pray and ask those I trusted to pray to the Lord to reveal what is the source of this evil and how to get rid of it. I know I wouldn't want to continue on struggling with this ugly thing in my life.

Thanks for your responses. This makes sense to me. I have long wanted to understand it.

I have done some searching, but I'm not sure what words to search for other than spider or spiders and I get heaps of results that don't have anything to do with this that come up...lol

Dreams mean something. Even if not designed by God, your life is, and dreams revolve around your life. I don't try and remember dreams, but keep those that force remembrance. (Beyond considering possible useful meaning in a dream when waking up... I find when I don't get enough sleep my mind provides me with intoxicating dreams that push me to stay asleep..)

We have the Spirit, as some often say "your heart", "listen to your heart" on matters, seek them out internally. Consider evidence.

Dreams rarely should be treated as divine proclamations with black and white, razor sharp meaning. Rather, they are as puzzles to consider.

'I speak to prophets in riddle, in dream and vision' - God said to Moses.

In fact, the above is so rarely the case many even long time dream & vision watching people doubt the case ever exists. But, I would disagree. However, when it does, the context is made sure, and it would use so much accompanying "you should know well" context it is understandable.


I am not sure where you get the above interpretation, or what actions it opens for you. Usually, we should simply forget the past and keep moving forward, forgiving all, not judging any -- though not closing our eyes to wrongs they do. "Not judging", realizing they are ignorant.

One thing you can do is read up on spiders and any natural info you can find as the Lord always uses creation in the scriptures to teach and instruct. I have not looked into scriptures for spiders, but if you do let us know what you find

I really like that interpretation. I have wondered before about spider dreams, because I don't get them and many others here have. (But I like spiders IRL.)

The spinning trapped prey into a bundle is such a great comparison to abuse. Making people feel so bound they don't try to get out.

Spiders are quiet. They sit patiently for hours or days, and wait for the prey to come to them.

The prey is going along its merry way, unsuspecting, when it finds itself entrapped in the sticky web strands.

If you are getting visions of this, pray about larger situations that this might represent. There is so much going on economically and politically now. A predator sitting quietly in the wings is highly likely.

Think about Venezuela... between the opportunism and their dislike of the US, we haven't heard much from them in a while.

China... owning much of US real estate, bonds, manufacturers, and markets.

Iran... watching Iraq and waiting.

India... not causing trouble with us, but quietly accepting the opportunities that come their way.

I sometimes wonder if spider dreams are seen as crafty, when spiders really have too small a brain to be maniacal. They survive for long periods of time without food or activity. Sort of a dinosaur...very very skinny ones.
