He was a devout Christian Scientist so i doubt he was ever baptized or received any sacraments.

Is it weird to pray for a famous celebrity?

What are your thoughts?

God bless

It’s never weird to pray for anyone. Celebrity or not. I think it only gets weird where someone seems to focus only on celebrities with little interest for anyone else.

I don’t think it’s weird.

Yeah, I agree. I don't like Celebrity worship and never understood it.

I actually cried when Freddie Mercury died. You might not know who he was, he was before your time. LOL.
Yup. Lead singer of Queen. I’ll be 30 in October. Believe it or not, Bohemian Rhapsody is still very popular. LOL

Yep! I don’t like the new Queen with Adam Lambert or whoever is their lead singer now.

Ah! I remember when Kris Allen beat him on American Idol! I actually remember watching Adam Lambert's audition! I wanted Allison Iraheta to win that year ;)

I just googled. Adam Lambert is still Queen’s lead singer.
Ehhh....I remember when Danny Gokey (Evangelical Christian who lost his first wife in a car accident) family publicly shamed Adam Lambert over a racy photo.

I don't think it was right.

Adam Lambert is a secular Jew and very openly Gay. *shrug*

Nah, it's not weird to pray for any body. Actors, singers, athletes, politicians, they're high profile people and if we like them we obviously hope for the best when they pass on. I don't see the harm in offering prayers for his soul on the off-chance he's in purgatory.

In the end - status doesn't matter.

I don't follow celebrities too much.
They do have a Double edged sword.
More temptations being famous --- OTOH --- more prayers because of being famous.

That’s very true.
Celebrities are still people, though. It's the idolization of them that is the problem.
Indeed. I don’t understand it either.
