SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - It’s an ABC 4 Family Safety Alert. A strong warning from one parent to another: read the labels on your cleaning supplies. A Layton mother says Mr. Clean’s Magic Eraser burned her young daughter.

The Magic Eraser has been proven to remove unwanted stains on just about any surface, so Wendie Glass decided to use it in order to get rid of a stubborn, temporary tattoo on her four-year-old daughter, McKell.

Never use a solution on skin, that you don't know what it is.

I thought they were talking about an electric eraser.(kind of like a drill that spins an eraser at a high rate of speed,) cleans marks off paper better then a normal eraser.
It spins at a high rate of speed, but you would know when it burned, and would be able to stop before serious injury.

This is a chemical burn, the girl might be scarred for life, just to remove a stupid temporary tattoo.

Before using anything, be sure you know what it is safe to use on.

The sad part is that somewhere out there a jury is ready to compensate her mistake.

Guys, guys - read the article:
She used it on her child without reading the label first!???! What an idiot!!
Did you read this part? And really, how often have you read the instructions on a sponge??
“I borrowed it from my mom and I didn't have the box, it does have a warning on the box.

No, it's not. It's not a solution or a chemical. It is a sponge, period. There is no cleaning agent on the sponge.
The Mr. Clean website states Magic Erasers do not contain any materials that could result in chemical burns and is considered non-toxic.

Seriously. I am usually a big fan of both of you, but this time.... ;)

Snopes covered this, wow, are they up to date or what.

seems this is a modern exageration of a small problem. It does seem to
say that there is no chemical in the sponge that would cause the burns.
There is something in the sponge to clean with, otherwise it would be sand paper.

 The Magic Eraser has removed paint from my walls (courtesy of my five year old son who thought his bedroom needed a snazzy squiggly line mural) and rust from my sink. I can't imagine what it could do to your skin. That poor little girl!
