The Nun, is a film that releases this September about a priest and a woman who is in training to become a religious sister sent to investigate the mysterious death of a nun at an isolated, ancient convent. Last summer, I was graciously invited by Warner Bros. and the filmmakers to visit their set in Romania.

Have you seen the previews & poster for it? It makes it look like the movie is going to be a total mockery of Catholicism being released to coincide with the horror movies that always come out near Halloween.

From the ads on tv that I have seen, I have to agree. Halloween slasher flick.

I feel most of those movies are just living on the fame of "The Exorcist".

I saw the movie and was not that impressed

There were some minor theological and anachronistic errors, but that is to be expected
It was the structure of the plot I found most disappointing

————Spoiler warning——————

While it deals with emotional trauma the priest went through years ago with a young child being killed from physical wounds he received during an exorcism and the nun and priest are both tricked by illusions caused by the demon, the resolution of the film is very much a physical conflict, searching for a relic that is treated like any other movie MacGuffin (the object sought after in a movie, think Maltese Falcon) reducing relics to the level of magic
