Anyone know the story of this song? is this a Christian song or like some kind of mockery of Christianity?

I was wondering because I actually like the song, and when I noticed he was saying Corpus Christi(body of Christ) I was like, sweeeet! Anyone know the background to what this guy is talking about with the woman and all?

ps: I was gonna link to lyrics but i cant yet because of my post count, you would need to listen to it anyways to get a good interpretation.

Well, the song's about having sex. That was pretty obvious from the lyrics.

One thing I've noticed is that imagery is often used that may or may not have anything to do with the song itself. It's used more for flavoring or to illustrate some abstract point that may incorporate A and B, but not really have anything to do with A and B except very superficially.

For instance, someone could write a song about a man fighting with his father, and the most plain reading of the song would sound just like a story or something, but the deeper meaning could be illustrating the contrast of being young vs. getting older, or any other sort of conflict that may not really be about some guy and his dad. Not saying that this particular song is like that, 'cause I haven't really spent the time contemplating it, but maybe the sex element has a double meaning. What it would be, I'd have no idea. In one way, I could see how it might be about relationships where maybe she is so wrapped up in having him that he becomes like God to her, which is what my best guess would be.

I see what you're saying, but I actually thought of it differently. You thought it was about her being so attatched to him. I gathered from the song that it was about Her cheating on him, hence the part where he says " for her lust, she'll burn in hell". I vaguely remember a friend of mine telling me about some band that did a song like that, not sure if it is this band though.

heh..it's anything BUT a Christian song...it's a slam at God and at Christians...not a christian song or even a song a christian should be listening to if they respect their God.

Type O Negative are not a Christian band. They never have been. Maybe at some point the members in the band might come to know the lord Jesus Christ?

But right now in there music. They are not Christians. I happen to like some of thier songs. But i listen to both Christian music and Secular music at times.

Heh, sorry. This is so innocent.

He isn't just saying body of Christ. Google the lyrics.
