Hey all.
I am writing up a treasure/scavenger hunt list cos i am going to use it for a party and im am a bit stuck... i am looking (no pun intended) for ideas that are obscure like a landmark... could be a building, sculpture or simply a mark on the ground/land.
anyone got any good ones?

What kind of scavenger hunt? Specifically, what methods are used for finding and collecting the items during the actual event?

That would help us get ideas more easily, I think.

I loooove scavenger hunts, especially with groups.

it is just your average scavenger hunt... no theme really you are just given a list of really obscure things to find, a few hours and a camera and away we go.
but there are two points systems going. you get points for finding the listed items, or you get more points for creativity.

some things i have so far, just as an example
a national treasure (ie a building, or a famous person, or something like that)
a landmark (so again could be a building or it could be graffiti)
an imposter (could be someone dressing up, something that looks like something)

so im looking for things that could be more than one thing. i dont want things like find an brick or anything simple like that. i am looking for the obscure items to find. so that people can use their mind and creativity.

Not terribly obscure.. but how about a watermark? Evidence of the highest water has risen.. or something on paper seen when it's held up to light. (might be hard with cameras.. dunno.)

Ooo.. how about "Cross". lots of things for that one.. Image of a cross.. of someone who is cross.. of someone or something crossing something else.. or a street sign that's telling pedestrians they can cross.. lots of things there.

So a video scavenger hunt? With small groups, I assume?

Try having activities on there. Say, make a human pyramid in front of a bank sign, play ring-around-the-rosie around a fire hydrant, get a store employee to sing a song for you...some mildly embarrassing things, etc.

Bonuses are always fun too...extra points for keeping the video below 3 minutes, being back under a certain amount of time...

You could do certain types of cars. Like a toyota or something like that, but be specific on the year or model. I like the one about getting someone at a store to sing for you.... hahaha that would funny! You could even get a little more daring... like find an old high school teacher's address and go knock on their door and ask to borrow something or get a picture. Or go toilet paper a best friends house. hahaha I've done that one and it's fun. Tag a random car. Write a "parking ticket" we used to get paper plates and write funny notes to people who are badly parked or illegally parked. Hahaha! And if you can wait and see if you can get their reaction on camera. hahahah. fun times!
