I'm not a fan of Christian movies (think Pureflix). They tend to be low-quality, super-conservative, and cringe-inducing. However, I really enjoy watching movies about Jesus!

Here is my top 7 list of favorite "Jesus" movies:

1. The Gospel of John (2014)

IMDb link

2. The Passion of the Christ (2004)

IMDb link

3. The Nativity Story (2006)

IMDb link

4. Barabbas (1961)

IMDb link

5. The Miracle Maker (2000)

IMDb link

6. The Robe (1953)

7. Jesus of Nazareth (1977)

Honorable mention: The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965)

#6. Best Film Portraying the Life of Jesus as a Part of a Film's Secondary Story Line:
Ben Hur (2016)

#7: Best Performance for Jesus for a Dramatized Audio Bible :
Inspired By: The Bible Experience (2006)

Yeah, I know an animated short (#4) and an audio Bible (#7) are not exactly films, but I needed to reach to number 7. Anyways, I hope folks enjoy the video clips; And may God bless you.

Have you seen Barabbas or The Robe? How about the old Ben Hur? I enjoyed the new Ben Hur, but there is something special about the classics.

I have not seen Barabbas or the Robe. I've seen a scene from the old Ben Hur on TV once at work a long time ago, but I did not see the whole thing. I am not sure if I could get into it. There was only one classic movie I liked at one time because I could relate to the story. It was a comedy film starring Jack Lemmon and Virna Lisi (1965). But I now only watch Christian films and educational documentaries now.

I've been meaning to see this film. I also have The Young Messiah and Last Days in the Desert on my short list of Jesus films to see.

I seen the trailers for these and it does not seem like I would enjoy them. It seems like they are too far away from the source material so as to be believable real to life dramas; Also, I am not too wild about the casting choices, either. I am very picky when it comes to films and or shows.

You said:
I was unaware of this one. Not an anime fan, but looks interesting enough to watch.

The animated clip called "My Last Day" that I have shown above is all there is. There is no other fuller clip or video. It is just a few minutes long.

Movies I want to see involving Jesus soon:

Well, I know it looks a little goofy, but I want to see the animated movie called, "The Star" which is a story of Christ's birth told from the animal's perspective:

Since there isn't source material for these events, I'm not sure we can say they are "too far away" from such material. However, I understand what you mean. I'm okay with artistic license as long as it doesn't contradict the source materiel we actually do have. I'll report back once I watch them.
