Where are we now, in this world of ours?
Can we escape? Go to the stars?
Take a vacation? Block it all out?
Laugh at it all, rather than pout?
How will that help? Change anything?
Sometimes a break keeps us breathing.
Sometimes we need just time to ourselves,
Sort through it all, then put on a shelf.
For life has hard knocks. Kicks to the can.
Sometimes we need rest. God knows what’s best.
Need time alone, spent with the Lord,
Pray for His lead to keep pressing forth.
God will supply all that we need
If that on Him we truly feed.
So, rest in Him, take all to Him,
Follow His will, and sing a hymn.
