I've been a member of an artist's co-operative for the past 20 years. For the past 3 years I've served as their treasurer. For various reasons, I'm leaving the gallery on March 1st. Meanwhile, they can't get anyone to step up to do the books and now are holding an emergency meeting tomorrow night to discuss how and if they're going to stay in business.
I feel bad that my leaving would leave them in such a tough spot, but it's an co-operative and it's supposed to be an artist owned and operated business.
When I was young, my dad would complain, "This place would die without me!" It looks like the place is going to die without me. It's really sad.
