12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. - Mark 11

The good things about preaching to trees are:

They hardly ever get up and leave if they're bored.
They don't talk while one is preaching.
They don't go to sleep - I think...

Seriously, Rocky; where are you going with this?

Interesting thought.... Jesus talked to a tree! Even answering it as the tree talked to him first!
This is from the excerpt you quoted, Mark 11:12-14; is that correct?

So the tree talked to Jesus first, because in verse 14, the text reads "And Jesus answered and said..."; is that also correct?

What did the tree say to Jesus?

20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. - Mark 11

Couched in this story are the methods on how to get an answer from God if we do not doubt in our heart.

"Couched"? As in hidden? I know how I 'get' answers from God; what's your take on this?

RUACH = SPIRIT - Spirit is anything that breathes.
NEPHESH = SOUL - Soul is anything animated in Life.

Lev 17:11 -For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls [Lives]: for it is the blood [sacrifice of life] that maketh an atonement for the soul [Life].

NOTE: Life needs Oxygen, Blood carries Oxygen, Stop the Blood the Oxygen depletes the Soul (Life) dies.

Interesting; technically a soul described in Genesis is a human body and is a living soul when life is breathed into it and a dead soul when it stops breathing.

A tree can be alive or dead; so does a living tree have a god breathe spirit?

The only anecdotal story I know of where a tree speaks is a little tune composed by an agnostic where Maple trees are envious of Oaks. The Maples form a Union, but, eventually, they are all equal, as the forest is cut down.

The wind has 'breeze' and the Hebrew word "ruackh" can be translated as 'wind'; the waves are caused by wind; so yes, you have at least an argument.

As I recall, humans were the only animal - created thing - to be recorded as God breathing the breath of life into them.

I suspect what was breathed into humans was different because here God is reproducing Himself.

I suspect that myself.

However, just to point out, the ONLY created being into which God breathed the "breath [neshama] of life" was man. The other creatures are noted as having the 'breath [ruwach] of life', which means they breathed in order to live; not the same 'breath' from God.

So yes. The breath given to man is different; presumably because man is different.

Obviously the trees want nothing to do with our standing in God's House. They're quite content being themselves.

Judges 9:8-15
One day the trees went out to anoint a king for themselves. They said to the olive tree, ‘Be our king.’
“But the olive tree answered, ‘Should I give up my oil, by which both gods and humans are honored, to hold sway over the trees?’
“Next, the trees said to the fig tree, ‘Come and be our king.’
“But the fig tree replied, ‘Should I give up my fruit, so good and sweet, to hold sway over the trees?’
“Then the trees said to the vine, ‘Come and be our king.’
“But the vine answered, ‘Should I give up my wine, which cheers both gods and humans, to hold sway over the trees?’
“Finally all the trees said to the thornbush, ‘Come and be our king.’
“The thornbush said to the trees, ‘If you really want to anoint me king over you, come and take refuge in my shade; but if not, then let fire come out of the thornbush and consume the cedars of Lebanon!’
