Hi there.

Is it acceptable for me to share a dream I had a few years back with a strong message about provision.

I believe it would be, and I look forward to you sharing it here, if that is what you are contemplating doing.

God bless

OK here goes...

A few years back I had the following dream which was very impacting.

I saw an angel of provision with a big sack full of funds sitting beside the Lord trying unsuccessfully to pour it out...

As I saw this I felt deeply frustrated and cried out to the Lord "Why cant the angel of provision pour out the provision ???

To my surprise He indicated that it was all about the Ai experience...

So waking out of the dream I grabbed my bible and refreshed my understanding of the problem at Ai. (you can read this in Joshua 7)

As I read the Lord was showing me that the sin of Achan was that of not trusting God to provide but making alternative arrangements, by hiding the booty from the battle of Jericho under his house.

This meant he was providing for himself by his own means.

So the impression I was getting was that many churches and individuals have done this - made financial arrangements that sustain without waiting for God's plan for supply. For this reason the provision that God had for them cant be poured out.

I have often thought that instead of only engaging professionals to look after finances there should be someone with a gift of faith in the mix.

I hope this might be helpful for someone...

Good morning, mate! I too am an older man with prophetic dreams. A long time ago a wise Baptist minister advised me to start writing my dreams down on paper for future reference. This practice has been invaluable in my growth as a Christian and interpreting my own dreams. Dreams are the super highway between our myriad, simple thoughts and God's complex, compound communication. I say compound because dreams are composed of two or more separate elements; a mixture. Complex because a dream can be bent, twisted in ways ordinary physics cannot explain. Last night I dreamed I ate two eggs over-easy, and the taste in the dream was so good I woke myself up and fried a couple of eggs. The eggs I cooked had practically no taste as compared to the dream. Comparatively, like eating paper. Thanks for sharing!

Hi @Carl Emerson

I can see how this dream could be impactful to one's life.

It has been my experience, that sometimes the Lord does allow for us to come nearly to the end of ourselves, to reveal to us just how totally dependent we truly are on Him.

Whilst this might seem a 'harsh lesson' to some, it is actually great blessing, when we come to see just how much we truly do need the Lord.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
~ Matthew 5:3

And we have learned confidently to say, rejoicing ...

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations He hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

~ Psalm 46

It can have several applications. All stemming from the same mistake.

1. The belief they must do it all themselves
2. Over dependency
3. Errant partnerships
4. Wrong investment/investors
5. Too hands off

A combination of faith and vision is ideal. Faith is the ability to believe the impossible. Vision provides the tools to bring it to fruition.
