The Prayer To Our Father
(in the original Aramaic)

Abwûn
"Oh Thou, from whom the breath of life comes,

d'bwaschmâja
who fills all realms of sound, light and vibration.

Nethkâdasch schmach
May Your light be experienced in my utmost holiest.

Têtê malkuthach.
Your Heavenly Domain approaches.

Nehwê tzevjânach aikâna d'bwaschmâja af b'arha.
Let Your will come true - in the universe (all that vibrates)
just as on earth (that is material and dense).

Hawvlân lachma d'sûnkanân jaomâna.
Give us wisdom (understanding, assistance) for our daily need,

Waschboklân chaubên wachtahên aikâna
daf chnân schwoken l'chaijabên.
detach the fetters of faults that bind us, (karma)
like we let go the guilt of others.

Wela tachlân l'nesjuna
Let us not be lost in superficial things (materialism, common temptations),

ela patzân min bischa.
but let us be freed from that what keeps us off from our true purpose.

Metol dilachie malkutha wahaila wateschbuchta l'ahlâm almîn.
From You comes the all-working will, the lively strength to act,
the song that beautifies all and renews itself from age to age.

Amên.
Sealed in trust, faith and truth.
(I confirm with my entire being)

Lords Prayer Translated from Aramaic
A Translation of "Our Father" directly from Aramaic into English

O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration. Soften the ground of our being and carve out a space within us where your Presence can abide.

Fill us with your creativity so that we may be empowered to bear the fruit of your mission.

Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance with our desire.

Endow us with the wisdom to produce and share what each being needs to grow and flourish.

Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us, as we release others from the entanglement of past mistakes.

Do not let us be seduced by that which would divert us from our true purpose, but illuminate the opportunities of the present moment.

For you are the ground and the fruitful vision, the birth, power and fulfillment, as all is gathered and made whole once again.

Lords Prayer, from Aramaic into Old English
Translation by G.J.R. Ouseley from The Gospel of the Holy Twelve

Our Father-Mother Who art above and within:

Hallowed be Thy Name in twofold Trinity.

In Wisdom, Love and Equity Thy Kingdom come to all.

Thy will be done, As in Heaven so in Earth.

Give us day by day to partake of Thy holy Bread, and the fruit of the living Vine.

As Thou dost forgive us our trespasses, so may we forgive others who trespass against us.

Shew upon us Thy goodness, that to others we may shew the same.

In the hour of temptation, deliver us from evil.

Amun.

The Kadish, as translated by Christian scholar, Rev. John Gregorie, is as follows:

"Our Parent which art in heaven, be gracious to us, O Lord, our God; hallowed be thy name, and let the remembrance of thee be glorified in heaven above and in the earth here below. Let thy kingdom reign over us now and forever. The holy men of old said, Remit and forgive unto all men whatsoever they have done against me. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil thing. For thine is the kingdom, and thou shalt reign in glory for ever and for evermore."

The eminent Swiss theologian, Dr. Wetstein, says: "It is a curious fact that the Lord's Prayer may be constructed almost verbatim out of the Talmud. The Sermon on the Mount is derived largely from the teachings of the Essenes, a Jewish sect to which Jesus is believed by many to have belonged."

And at least one that concerns me...

Waschboklân chaubên wachtahên aikâna
daf chnân schwoken l'chaijabên.
detach the fetters of faults that bind us, (karma)
like we let go the guilt of others.

I mean, maybe the law of action / reaction or consequential returns (sow to the wind reap the whirl wind, live by the sword die by the sword... that sort of thing) is how you meant it.

But my concern is how pagan doctrines worm their way into our speech or our world view without our even knowing the source...

knock wood... <--- point is this little phrase is also pagan in orgin yet how many people swear by* such little expressions of paganism without realizing it?

*also pagan: idolatry swearing by anything that is not God... and Yeshua told us it is best not to swear at all anyway.

"Original Aramaic"?.... when were Original Manuscripts found?? When were ANY manuscripts of the Messianic Writings found in Aramaic or Hebrew??

this is more likely "back translating".... not a bad thing to do [itis actually necessary in some circumstances].... but it is important to understand that is what it is and not the authoritative "original" it purports to be.... none exist....

What? Never saw Kaddish like this before?

Where are you getting these from?

If it was done in Hebrew ( and Yeshua would most likely have taught it in Hebrew) it would go like this and not be able to be translated like any that you have posted.
English translation in parentheses.

Avinu ( our Father) shebashamayim ( in heaven, or who dwells in heaven) yitkadesh shimkha ( be sanctified ( made holy) your name)

Tavo malkhutekha, ( Your kingdom come) ye'aseh retzonekha ( your will be done) b'aretz ( in earth) K'asher na'asah va'shamayim (as it is done in heaven)

Ten lanu ( give us!) haiyom ( today or this day) lechem (bread) chuchemu ( our daily or needed)

U'selach lanu( words many are familiar with come Yom Kippur :) ) ( and forgive us) et ashmateinu ( our sins) ka asher ( the same or just as) solechim ( forgiving) anachnu ( we are) la'asher ( to those who) ashemu lanu. ( sin against us.)

Ve'al- tevieinu ( lead us not) lidei massah ki-'im (into the hands of massah* but ) hatzileinu ( deliver us)
min-hara ( from the evil one)

Ki (for) lekha ( thine is, Yours is) ha-memelakha ( the kingdom) v'hagevurah ( and power) v'ha-tiferet ( and the glory) l'olemie olamim ( forever and ever ) amein!

It is said that this prayer combines in outline first, the Kiddush, then the Amidah, and then ends with echos of King Solomon on the dedication of the temple.

* Massah - Massah comes from a root that means to melt, dissolve, or consume -- as by fire that tests the quality of something. As a noun, the word is often translated as “test,” “trial,” or “temptation,” and is directly used to name the place where the children of Israel rebelled against God in the wilderness (Ex 17:7; Deut 6:16, Psalm 95:8; Hebrews 3:7-9). Significantly, massah can also mean “despair,” in the sense of “melting of heart,” and is usually rendered as mockery or scorn (Job 9:23).

When I said their version... It probably would have been clearer if I said their own version.
Shalom,

it was the "everybody" I said 'I don't' to.

I didn't like my own version, my families version, nor my churches version best..... when Yahweh brought/brings that which was/is better , like fresh manna instead of day old (let alone centuries old manmade stuff ! ), then I eagerly (p.s. okay, slowly sometimes, over decades even ! ) let go of what I had yesterday for what He serves Today !

"Almost everybody" I can agree with - as anyone watching people can see that whatever bone they have a hold of they most often will not let go of except if their eyes get big with greed when they see a bigger better (to the flesh) bone.

Rare and beautiful is the fellowship, you know......

Yahweh's Shalom, Yahshua
.to all who love Living Truth more than their own life !

Come out of the abomination of lies, My People;
Keep yourself free from idols.

(I forgot this was the Messianic forum, in which some are free. The call if for most others anywhere who are not free)
