Chinese traditional culture contains many things about astrology. As a native Chinese, I inevitably come into contact with these things. Today, I had a sudden idea and tried to use the traditional "Bazi fortune telling" to calculate Hitler's fortune (I'm not sure if my expression is correct). The information I searched showed that Hitler's birth date was April 20, 1889 at 18:30. I switched to the Chinese lunar calendar and combined it together. Through a series of calculations (I will omit this part, which is not the focus), I learned that Hitler had a difficult early life, but his career went smoothly in middle age, and he had great changes in his later years. He also had artistic talent, acted impulsively, and was particularly eloquent. He had lofty aspirations, and had the possibility of working in the government (and was very suitable). Previously, I also used these calculations to determine the fate of myself and my family, but I just treated it as a joke. However, today I have come to understand what description is rather than speculation. This sparked my curiosity, and I really want to continue to delve deeper into traditional Chinese astrology. However, as a Christian, I absolutely cannot take them as real. I feel very embarrassed. Please give me some advice

愿上帝赐福给你洞察力

2 Corinthians 6:15 NIV

"What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?"

Excerpt from:

The basis of astrology lies in the belief that the entities of the universe (stars, moon, etc.) and their patterns and positions have an influence over a person’s life, how they act, and what happens to them. This goes directly against the biblical foundation that God is sovereign and all-knowing. No star patterns or charts can determine who we will become or what will happen in our life because God has already ordained it.

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

God has already written out the entire story of our lives, and no zodiac sign or horoscope can alter that.

In Matthew 28:18, Jesus says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

Note that he says all authority. Believing in the power and authority of astrology goes directly against biblical wisdom and Scripture clearly states that chasing after false gods is a sin (Matthew 24:24, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Exodus 20:3). There is no biblical evidence that God has given authority to the stars or astrologists.

Pursuing predictions about our destiny or personality takes power from God and gives it to something other than God, and that is biblically sinful.

Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you…”.

A horoscope cannot change what God has already ordained before we were even created.

•••••

The same Biblical principals apply to the reverence and practice of predicting one's future utilizing 'The Four Pillars of Destiny' (aka Ba Zi 八字). Clearly anti-Christian as well.

1 John 5:21 NASB
"Little children, guard yourselves from idols."

Many techniques of Chinese mystical destiny were learned from India. Chinese indigenous religions are not well-developed, and Confucianism and Taoism basically do not discuss the afterlife. The main "scriptures" of Confucianism and Taoism cannot be considered in the field of religion. The Book of Changes mainly discusses the yin-yang (Positive and Negative)cosmology, rather than being used for divination. Advanced religions must have scriptures, which is why Tang Xuanzang's large-scale translation of Sanskrit Buddhist scriptures after his pilgrimage to India.

While any fortune telling system might create some truth, basically they are poor competitors to the Holy Spirit. Since God disapproves of all sorts of witchcraft, fortune telling, necromancy, divination, use of mediums, etc. it means that when you use other methods you may then fail to be able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Mixing anything like that is a poor recipe, so better to read about how much the Holy Spirit wants to guide and teach us, so that you can have more faith in what God can do rather than any lesser competitor. That is why it is best to renounce any past involvement with alternative means of spiritual communication and just stick with God.

Astrology of all kinds is usually a combination of several factors. Perhaps the most significant is that Satan sets the course of the world for now.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

One can magnify an ambiguous word or phrase such that it seems to imply more than is actually said. For an example a class was once held and the students were given an astrology chart and ask how well they thought it described them. They were then asked to exchange their chart with another student only to discover that they had all been given the same chart.

A more accurate test of a system would be to take 100 average people and calculate their charts and see if first anything specific were predicted instead of vague generalities and then to see if those things actually happened. In the bible those prophets who predicted falsely were to be put to death.

If you consider the skill of a con man, you can begin to consider the skill of ancient priests whop saw an advantage of declaring the will of the gods You can obtain a privileged position and a labor free life by declaring the future for farmers. If your prediction is false, you simply declare it is because the farmers had too little faith, were too stingy in their contributions, or some other fault.

With astrology you tend to find what you are looking for.

Perhaps you may think I'm lying, but I don't need to do those things. Perhaps something else went wrong, I really don't think it's true.
No worries. I'm half-Korean, and all my Korean kinfolk joke about what animal everyone is, and how you can tell, it usually degenerates into "You can tell Tommy is a Cow because he's always eating, or you know Esther is a Snake because she's sneaky." No one really takes it seriously. But one of my aunts has the big honkin' Chinese horoscope book, and she takes it very seriously indeed. and she's always calling to tell us to be very carefully the the next two weeks, or to buy Tesla (or whatever) stock today because it's going to take off. (Fair play, her stock picks generally aren't much worse than a stock broker's,) But she's the only one in the fam who takes it to heart. Heejoo emo is just kind of the family "character").

He had lofty aspirations, and had the possibility of working in the government (and was very suitable).
I will offer that Adolph was not at all suitable to be in a governing position. He ruined Germany, and got so many people killed for nothing. So, just with this point alone you can see the astrology is inaccurate.

And we can depend on God to guide us according to all He knows is really going to happen.

But humans can try to be their own gods, to know what will happen. And they have their way of being concerned mainly about their own selves.

God knows what will happen, and what to do about it. But humans can want to know so they can control what they try to do.

They are real enough.
Their problem is that they are demonic in origin. And you get spiritual yuck on yourself when you mess around with them, even as a "joke."
Look for a church that has a healing ministry to get washed from that stuff.

Here's one example of why you don't want to mess around with astrology of any kind. Even if you know celestial bodies have nothing to do with determining your future, you still don't want to be drawn into it.

Isaiah 47:13–14

"You are wearied with your many counsels;
let them stand forth and save you,
those who divide the heavens,
who gaze at the stars,
who at the new moons make known
what shall come upon you.
Behold, they are like stubble;
the fire consumes them..."

Isaiah 47:13–14 (ESV)
