The enemy attacks
in many different ways.
And some of his attacks
are meant for us to sway.
He targets the naïve,
For them, he can deceive.
But he stops not with them,
But those in Christ believe.
His goal is to confuse,
As well as to abuse
The followers of Christ,
And their words to misuse.
So he takes what they say,
And twists them for to fault
The innocence of those
Who want to see sins halt.
But none of us perfect
Our words in all we say,
But we must try, we must,
To guard what we convey.
We pray that we’ll do well
In what we now relate,
So Satan has no case
To cause with us debate.
But he is who he is,
So he will surely try
To get us now confused,
And our faith now deny.
So we must be aware
Of all his many tricks
He’ll use to us upset,
Defeat us with his licks.
