What we need is a gathering force against the strong propaganda from media (especially MTV) on all kinds of body fixation like:
Beauty surgery, Tattoos, Body-piercing, the use of Anabolic Steroids, Hysterical Dieting etc.
We are good enough the way we are without being forced to do different kinds of surgical interference to our bodies!
Beauty is a part of our inside, not our outside.

I have searched the net and haven’t found any serious community trying to fight this phenomena.
There must be a more fair propaganda situation here.
MTV and other media fill their broadcasting with this, telling the young generation that they aren't good enough the way they are, and there is no force against it.
My intention is that this community hopefully grows!
So, please sign up, just to show your support for this movement.
There is a .pdf in the "files" directory for those who want to print a full paper with the anti body fixation symbol.

The Bible doesn't say "tattoos" - that is how it has been (wrongly) interpreted. The Bible says we should not get markings honoring the dead. Also, this is a Levitical law so have fun not eating shellfish or anything either. We are free (according to St Paul) from these Levitical codes. For some it may be right to get a tattoo, but not to others - because we are free in Christ and we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. There are some Christians that have scriptural tattoos and use it to start conversations on Christianity. Provide a sound basis besides "Don't change what is God's!" and I'll listen to you.

Then I presume that you will be proud to have your new body in heaven bearing the same marking?

I don't see how this commandment is different than the one that says no pork or shellfish. I have always been curious about this, could someone explain it to me? I will not argue at all, I am just trying to see what it means.
Welcome to our club
You must understand that what God instructed to the Children of Israel was for them to remain healthy and have the best quality of life possible. Eating shellfish from dubious quality water without sterilisation would be detrimental as would having your skin marked for life with something you may one day regret. While there have been progressive improvements to the nature of marine infections there has yet to be a suitable way to completely reverse the detrimental aftermath of self inflicted body marking.
I hope that helps answer your question.

I must say, while micke mentions some notary points, there is some things in what he says that i must disagree with. I (being 18 and of this generation) have seen many of the MTV shows and TLC shows and Fashion network shows, and i must say that yes, people make it very clear that the world expects this, or that from todays generation. They do not, however force their views on watchers of said shows. And might I add that it is completely up to said watcher to choose to view said programming. Even if someone makes a choice to watch a program that pushes their fashion statements on the viewers, again it is the viewers choice to take the TV shows advice. It is not as if people are being forced to get tattoos. It is free will. Also, the tattoos mentioned in the passage was actually referring to a mark of ink tattooed on slaves to mark ownership, much like a brand. Besides this, i think it is a personal choice to have them or not.

I am not to sure if you have a grasp on the intention of either this world system or the Word of God. While your assertions are by no means offensive perhaps they would be better displayed in the pro tattoo thread where you will no doubt encounter a receptive audience

I apologize, in no way meant to cause any offense. I always try to best understand someone by asking questions. I just want to understand this more. I have been to both pro and anit tattoo "clubs" and "groups" before and even when they both bring good points and proofs, every time i question motives, original context, and matters of the heart, the subject is changed and i am avoided. I guess i was hoping for this to be different. And just so u know, I do in fact know my bible history and culture. Also, I would not be very accepted in the "pro tattoo" club because i could care less either pro or against, when there are SO MUCH MORE heart issues to deal with.

I fail to see why this issue is considered unimportant as it is my consideration that it is the very instruction on holiness from God that will determine if people in the latter days will accept the "mark of the beast".
It is sad that there has been been so much wrong teaching that has "programmed beleivers to misinterpret the true meaning of His Word.
