CHET - the WALL (Jesus and the Alphabet)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Hebrew letter chet was a picture of a fence or WALL. It comes from the root chi which means living or living creature.

If we use scripture for our basis, believers do not dwell inside the church, they are the STONES that make up the WALL of the church. God is also a wall around us and GOD's GLORY dwells inside the church. Our very salvation is the wall that builts the temple not made with hands:

Isa 60:18 .......but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

Zec 2:5 For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

Chet is the 8th letter. Eight is the number of NEW BEGINNINGS or new life, especially the life to come in the NEW heavens and earth. Christ was resurrected on the 8th day of the week (the 1st of the next week). 8 were in the ark of Noah to make a new beginning. A sideways eight is still used in mathematics for the symbol for infinity.

The 8th "mystery" verse in the NT (Eph 3:4-6) is about the WALL of partition (chpt 2) that is now broken down between Jew and Gentile and they are now fellow heirs of the promises.

There is an 8th day that follows the seven days of the seventh feast called Shemini Atzeret, which comes from a atzer, to "hold over". God is saying "remain with me an extra day" a "time beyond time". This day of the feast starts a new cycle of the feasts or a NEW BEGINNING.
