Awesome!!!! If you actually stop to check out their lyrics...they're pretty deep, as weird as that sounds. True, the message isn't laid out for the ignorant, but takes some thinking to extract. For instance, and this is probably a bad example, but what comes to mind is "We're one in the river and one again after the falls." Pretty much, what I think they're saying is that we're all in this together, and after big events and drama, we're still all in this together.

I believe that there are always two sides to every coin. However, the song, "Chop Suey" (to me), is a slap in the face about my Savior and my heavenly Father. The part that got me thinking is when he said, "self-righteous suicide".

First, when he said, "self-righteous", that hurt. There is nothing "self-righteous" about Almighty God. He is Righteousness in and of itself. For Him, Righteousness is a noun. It is a name. It is not only an attribute of Him, but it is Him altogether. There is no one righteous, no, not one (except for God).

Secondly, "suicide" is what you do when you have either no love and or hope and you see no light at the end of the tunnel. Jesus Himself is the very light at the end of the tunnels in our lives, when we go through the garbage we go through. He is our hope. Jesus acted in obedience and willingly entrusted His spirit into His Father's hands. That is not suicide; that is faith, that is obedience, that is selfless sacrifice for the Creation who spurned Him. No other human should do what He did because no other human is God. Only He could die for our sins. For anyone else to "die for the sins of the world" is not only blasphemous (and redundant), but it would indeed be suicide. I have been where SOAD are right now and I know why they have said what they've said and why they feel the way they feel. The exact reason for what caused SOAD to attack God in that regard, I do not know. But when I heard them say that one line that kept repeating on the radio again and again, I knew that those guys have some serious issues about who Jesus not only was, but is today, right now.

I'm not those guys' judge and I don't know their hearts, but it still hurt. Those three words are not something I can just "get over it" about. If it hurt me, how much more did it hurt The Lord? That's all I'm going to say on this issue.
