Saint Athena is celebrated on September 1st and was one of 40 virgins who were martyred along with their spiritual father. Also among the virgins was one named Aphrodite (Venus)!

We have the second, third and fourth volumes of the Synaxarion. Since we have not yet bought the first I can't tell you any more than that for the time being.
