• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am looking for soothing verses from the bible people may have for someone that suffers occasionally with psychosis.
Have you considered listening to something healing from another source, whilst retaining your Christian faith?

"And We sent down in the Quran such things that have healing and mercy for the believers"
(al-Isra, 17:82)

To me mental illness is all in a persons head. All one needs to do is empty their head and fill it with the good stuff. Thankfully I have memory problems about the past which I think is a defence mechansim and now I seem to only remember bible verses well. This, thank God, does the trick.

I like to rate/mark/highlight my verses and often just randomly flip the pages and let me eyes fall where ever and read. It helps me when I want to fill my head with the good stuff.

This is such a nice thing I appreciate it

Please note that my original, pre-edited list included Psalm 137, which was a typo. I meant it to be Psalm 139 instead. I have corrected it in my post above, post #2 (and one or two other things as well .. I added some verses from St. John's Gospel).

Sorry about that.

Ok Clintos, keep it up and stay blessed. Remember life has its ups and downs, it's all a part of the journey.
Peace
