Hi I was just wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction in the bible where I can find good scripture that I can just say to myself when I feel I am being attacked very negatively? Or posting some scriptures?

Don't mean to be lazy, I am reading the whole bible for the first time in ages and love it. But my mind has a tendency of side tracking very often and when it side tracks it flies to far to the dark. Very hard for me to control, so this is always a big struggle in my life.

Thank you

God Bless

Generally, Satan attacks us in specific areas of weakness. He tempts us to commit specific sins. Often it can be helpful to focus on those Scriptures that speak directly to the issue at hand. For example, if the temptation has to do with truthfulness, you might focus on a verse like Ephesians 4:25. If it has to do with anger, Ephesians 4:26-27. If you're tempted to steal something, try Ephesians 4:28. If you have trouble controlling profanity, try Ephesians 4:29-30.

The point is, if we digest Scriptures that directly relate to our specific weaknesses, this will help us resist temptation and grow strong in the Lord. Internalizing the Word of God is the first, best way to avoid sin [Psalm 119:11].

Psalm 63:3-4, Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.

If His steadfast love is better than life, then no matter how bad life becomes in this world, we still have Him Whose love will never change as a stedfast anchor for our souls.

It's hard to list applicable Scriptures without knowing what specific areas of your mind you are being attacked or tempted in, but here are a few good general verses that should be helpful:

II Cor. 10:4-5: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; [our weapons are] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

Phil.4:8: "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Phil. 1:6: "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

I Jn. 1:8-9: "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

I Cor. 10:13: "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
