Romantic Movies the 2 of you like to watch together

Just wondering what romantic movies you as a couple enjoy watching together.

We enjoy a lot of movies in general, but there are some that are special to us in a romantic way, and I thought it would be nice to share ours and perhaps hear about some others as well.

We like Singing in the Rain and Cyrano de Bergerac as 2 particular favorites. We try (but don't always succeed) to watch Cyrano sometime around Valentine's Day.

Anne of Green Gables is also pretty romantic to us. We also loved Pride and Prejudice, which we just saw for the first time recently.

I'd appreciate keeping this thread to the topic of romantic movies and leaving the discussion of other types movies to another thread. Thanks!

We are big Star Wars fans here, as well, and my husband and I are thrilled to see Avatar, but we have a small theatre. Might have to wait until it hits our netflix list. We also love Princess Bride.
We're big movie watchers overall though, and we do watch romance sometimes, but shy away from them because they don't usually line up to a GOOD romance. It's usually... sex... some cute lines... more sex... which we aren't fans of, because the couples rarely know each other well and they aren't married.
The BEST romantic segment of a movie I've ever seen (though the rest of the movie was "meh") was the first few minutes of UP. Amazing.

I agree that UP had a lovely, romantic scene in it. Very sweet.

If you'd like to see Avatar in 3-D, I'd suggest going for it at the movies. We saw it this week and it's visually amazing.

We also watch all kinds of movies as well. I was inspired to start this thread by the thread about fellowshipping here in the married area.

Oh yeah, UP was so sweet!!!

I forgot about the 3D experience. We were going to wait until it came out on DVD, which is what we usually do, but I'll bet in 3D it is much more amazing. Maybe we'll have to get a sitter (or grandma) and head out to see it.

We're not big on romance either...but he actually loves to watch Jane Austen movies with me. *giggle* We really enjoy comedy (tasteful comedy...so much of it is bad) like Princess Bride. ^_^ Star Wars is a big hit around here too. I can't wait to see Avatar!

Sshhh--don't tell anyone, but my hubby will watch Jane Austen too. He says it is because he is bored. But then he makes comments like "Well Captain Wentworth should never have left her in the first place." Or "Darcy and Elizabeth deserve each other--don't they?"

^_^^_^^_^

Other than that we don't really watch many romantic movies.

We movie swap; he picks one, I pick one. Mine are usually romance/romantic comedy. His are usually sci-fi and action. I can't think of any romantic movies that he enjoys watching with me. We did watch Pride and Prejudice, but only because we also watched Die Hard 4. lol

^_^ That's great! I love it when my husband shows his "sensitive side" by enjoying these movies.

I'm happy to say that my Dear Hubby is more of a "romantic movie" kind of person than I am! He *loves* watching sappy romances, whereas I prefer sci-fi and comedy.

Anyway, some of our favorite romantic movies are:
"Twilight" (I can not believe we liked it, but we did!), "The Notebook", "Sleepless in Seattle", "Princess Bride" and "Casablanca." Actually "Casablanca" is kind of "our movie" and every time we feel nostalgic, we watch it and get all swoony.
