Revelation 9: Tormented 5 MONTHS and death fleeing

Has anyone noticed the 5 months in Reve 9 in comparison with the time the flood covered the earth in Gene 7:24:

Revelation 9:
5 and it was given to them that they may not kill them, but that they may be tormented five months,
and their torment [is] as the torment of a scorpion, when it may strike a man;
6 And in those days shall men shall be seeking the death, and shall not shall be finding it
and shall be yearning/desiring to be dying and the death fleeing from them.
10 They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.

According to Josephus, it took about 5 months for the Roman army, from the time Titus encompassed Jerusalem, to the final destruction of the City, :

I am mainly interested in just those 2 verses concerning the 5 months for now.

The destruction of Jerusalem only took about 5 months.

We know the flood lasted 5 months [150 days], and the NT does mention the event:

It appears that only Matthew and Luke bring up "the days of Noah" in the Olivet Discourse?

Matthew 24:37
“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Luke 17:26
“And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man.

2Pe 2:5
and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness,
bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;

Yep. I definitely noticed it. Some people think it's symbolic, you think it was at the DofJ, i'm sitting here on the edge of my seat for it to begin at anytime.

I tried to fit the prophetic time periods into the first century, but they wouldn't fit. Even when i used the Cestius siege and tried to force them in. Plus there weren't the right "darkened' sun at the end of the DofJ, immediately after the tribulation of those days.

One of the things i found that surprised me, time and dates calendars will go back to the first century.

I think we're close to the five months. I think that the Lord is going to come back and roll this whole place up like a scroll very quickly, behold He comes quickly, over a period of five months and change. I did a google search on "the tribulation is five months", and i was surprised at how many people were considering this as a possibility. Recognize your buddy?, he looks familiar.

I think we're just like in the days of John the Baptist. Nobody knows what's going on. Not even the disciples. Even a guy like John B had to send people out to ask: "are you the One we're waiting for, or should we wait for another?

It will happen during the wrath of God when the Seals/Trumpets /Vials are happeing
The 5 month time period in Revelation 9 has nothing to do with anything that has happened in the past - might as well divide the 1260 days into 5 month periods of time as that has as much relevance as doing it with Rev 9
or you could figure out a way to make Time Times and Half a Time into 5 months

I do not see the point of creating a different thread on verse 10 about the scorpion tails which you already mentioned in your OP and its title! The first 10 verses are within the context of the chapter! My questions for you on the first three verses of Revelation 9 still stands which you are probably trying to avoid to explain yourself biblically.

If you are willing to acknowledge that the Olivet discourse by Jesus is about the things that will be taking place just prior to Jesus return , as Israel is being pummeled by her enemies and the wrath of God is taking place , Jesus is making it known that if it were not for HIM returning to save Israel from destruction , there would be no flesh left alive as all life would be destroyed , but for the sake of the elect the days are cut short - this is about Jesus Parousia

To the Son = Church = Christians are given the "rewards of obedience" (Leviticus 26 = 2 Corinthians 6:16), to those antithetical to the same are given the "7-fold punishments for disobedience" (Lev 26)

First off, I want to look at the hebrew and greek words used for "scorpions":

6137 `aqrab ak-rawb' of uncertain derivation; a scorpion; figuratively, a scourge or knotted whip:--scorpion.
Strong's Number H6137 matches the Hebrew עַקְרָב (`aqrab), which occurs 6 times in 6 verses

4651. skorpios skor-pee'-os probably from an obsolete skerpo (perhaps strengthened from the base of 4649 and meaning to pierce); a "scorpion" (from its sting):--scorpion.
Strong's Number G4651 matches the Greek σκορπίος (skorpios), which occurs 5 times in 5 verses
