For decades, America has been a place where other nations could safely
invest. And the Republican Party has held the image of fiscal responsibility.

The president's eratic declaring of tariffs, has changed the global perception that
America is a safe and predictable place to invest.

I didn't realize you on the left had such high regard for the right. If you guys knew anything about the debt, you wouldn't think so.

Gotta own them libs, eh?
No! I don't believe in tribalism, and I don't want to own anyone; that's old fashioned. I was really really was surprised to read this:

"For decades, America has been a place where other nations could safely
invest. And the Republican Party has held the image of fiscal responsibility."

To say conservatives were an image of fiscal responsibility in today's political environment is an olive branch.

It seems likely that DOGE will never meet it's goal, the debt will grow, and even the deportations will fall way short. Still better off than with Harris but if inflation and/or lasting recession hits, the MAGA movement will be pretty much over. Hopefully the trade deals will get done with the exception of China.

Both parties are responsible for the deficit as control of the government swings back and forth over the years. It's finally coming to a head and only by working TOGETHER will Democrats and Republicans be able to fix the issue.

Republicans have never really been known for fiscal responsibility, if you look at the actual record and not the rhetoric.
Say a lie often enough, and people start to believe it.
This is why I'm shocked the MSNBC would even start to manipulate their left wing voters in this way, because I too think it's a lie.

I think the reputation may still be there even though the reality isn’t.

There were a few Republican presidents that took it seriously, like George H. W. Bush, but most didn't., at least in my lifetime. I don't know enough about congressional Republicans individually to say, but it seems like on the whole they've been all too happy to go along with balooning deficits, if they could pass the buck.

As readers can pick up, I am not talking about America's trade deficit here.
I am talking about the financial chaos caused by this president, by using
tariffs as a club to threaten traders.

And, I'm talking about how often the president has changed his tariff levels.
THIS causes an unstable investment environment in America. And, many
foreign investors are pulling out from financially investing in America.
